I'm a Bulls fan, but even I think Stephen A. Smith has been completely wrong with his analysis of Lin. He said Lin didn't wanna play for the Knicks and chose the the money, of course he did! He was only playing for the league min. his entire career up until this point, he probably assumed the Knicks would match, even if he didn't, he'd be stupid to turn down that money.

Is he worth the money? Probably not, but for the Knicks to add guys like Kidd, Camby, and Kurt Thomas, all guys whose careers are coming to an end, and letting their young asset walk, it makes absolutely no sense for their future. They will be a top 4 seed for the next 2 years if that and bum out, with no young assets. This is exactly why the Knicks management is always viewed under a bad light.

Since I've been on this site, I've never noticed how dumb SOME Knicks fans are. It's sad really.

Did you even read the article?

"They have experience, depth and happen to be two guards capable of running the show for a team with two stars in Amare and Melo who will want the ball when they are called upon to step up and play like stars.

Lin is no scrub. He can play. The Knicks, undoubtedly, will acknowledge this.

But while doing so, they should just make sure to ask two questions of anyone who thinks Lin deserves such an exorbitant amount of money:

What exactly did 25 games prove?

And when did Jeremy Lin -- in Year 3 of this deal -- become the second coming of Chris Paul?"

Yes I did.

He gave Lin credit, just said he wouldn't be on the level of Chris Paul.

What's wrong with what he said?

Chew on that for a while...

and...........................

what was the average age on the celtics when they won it all? what was the average age on the heat last year? what does your statement mean?

That's completely different. The Celtics aged well and had a big 4, and Heat have the big 3. You can't honestly tell me that Melo, Amare and Chandler are a big 3. Zero chemistry.

And just so you know, the Heat's avg. age was 27.5, and the Celt's avg. age was 26.8, so I'm not sure what you're trying to prove.

I find all of the events of the past week and a half to be very entertaining. The outrageous offer to Landry Fields from Colangelo trying to cock block the Knicks from getting Steve Nash. And then neither team ending up with him and Toronto having to pay the outrageous contract to Landry Fields.

The Return of both Camby and Kurt who were like the babies on the 99 team. Both of those guys played extremly hard during that Finals run and now they have come full circle.

J.R. Smith

The signing of Jason Kidd which is followed closely by his arrest for drinking and driving.

And now the Lin Saga which has captivated all of America. I think this is a well executed plan to keep us all focused on the NBA during the dog days of summer. I'm not as certain as I was on Lin returning as I was this morning, but this Soap Opera that has become the Knicks off season has me completly entrenched to see what happens next.

One hit wonder ? You mean how Melo made it out of the first round once ?
And there's no denying Lin is more important to this team than a washed up fire extinguisher punching Amare. Focus on the team's real problems.

Dolan and Grunwald just created a effing mess. All they had to do was just match Lin, and nobody was going to ask Melo or Jr about there thoughts on the deal.

But now if the Knicks dont match (all most certain this will happen), the fans are going to create hell, Melo and Felton are going to be in immense scrutiny about everything they do.

IF the Knicks match (wont happen), then LIn and JR/Melo probably wont get along!

And you do? Fool. 25 games is enough for you to dish out a ton of cash. I'm sure you were all for the Jerome Jordan deal after he had that spectacular playoff run.

Insurance for old Kidd and injury prone Lin.

Pretty much.

That plus people forgot that Shump is out most of the year. Smith is not a starter, so what are we doing at the 2?
