How is there any way to interpret this other than Jeremy Lin doesn't want to come back to NY?

Or at least it's " well, I'll come back to NY but they are rich so I will milk them for more millions than Tyson Chandler will be earning his final year."

Regardless of whether or not you think they should match (and i am of two minds myself) if you are a Knick fan what on EARTH is there in this situation that merits loyalty to Lin, to the point of turning on the franchise?

Match or don't match, Lin is giving the middle finger to the team that raised him.

For some strange reason people are looking past this

Also, we're trying to get Hill now? Hill, Kidd, Camby, Thomas. Dang, had no idea MSG was getting a building extension to facilitate a retirement home.

Pretty original joke.

no, there's not. i don't understand why those of you who have no faith in lin try to make those who do support lin seem somehow irrational, whether accusing them of not being real knicks fans, exaggerate their positions like crazy, go on about "melo bashing" when lin bashing is just as common, etc. it's silly and childish, and a large part of why these threads are unbearable. if you think you're right, just argue your point coherently. stop with the ad hominems and strawmen.

It shows that people don't know how to think for themselves. They get all emotional, and caught up in media reports, even though, time and time again, it's been proven that the media isn't really an accurate indicator.

I mean, just last week, people were sh*tting their pants over the Nets getting Dwight Howard. How did that turn out?

I think you're painting with a rather broad brush. There is one or two morons and to be honest, I think they are trolling. Probably not even real fans of Lin's, but here to cause trouble and too many suckers bite.

Lin has had it EASY in New York. Won nothing and has been treated like Jeter in terms of local media.

If we match that "ridiculous" contract, I want him to feel the heat. He should have as much pressure as Melo, Amar'e and Tyson, as well as Woodson for the Knicks to succeed, and AT LEAST make it to the ECF.

You know what I'm thinking? The only one really reporting that we are definetely not matching is SAS. We KNOW that he HATES lin with a passion. Would it surprise anyone if he is completely making it up that the Knicks won't match in an attempt to be an instigator and make problems? I think he saw some momentum heading that way, and decided it was his time to report some garbage to try to shake things up.

The longer this drags out the more I believe we'll match. The Knicks know that Lin is a fan favorite and that there will be a backlash if they don't match, so the more this drags out the more the fans mobilize and the more anger builds and bigger PR nightmare it becomes. If they have no plans to match it would be in their best interest to make it quick and move on as fast as possible to promote the players that they've already acquired like "Hey! Look over here! It's Kurt Thomas! Remember him! Yeah...good times."
