Probably failed his physical, lmao

the hold up is whether they received the offer sheet or not officially for lin. they want to do the deal first.

I want Lin back, but there are a number of things that I question. There is no loyalty period on his part.

i dont get that criticism. he hadn't played for over a month and we were gonna lose to miami either way after shump blew his knee out and they went up 3-0.

The issue is not whether Lin wanted to come back or not. The issue is whether this franchise can continue to afford to squander assets. We give up picks and young players right and left to acquire guys at the end of their useful basketball lives, and then allow a player like Lin to simply WALK, because of (of all things) MONEY?

Imagine if Denver had adopted this attitude when it came to Anthony?

Match it, and in a year, or so, trade Amare's ass for free.

Dolan feels betrayed, that's why.

Why do you give a crap again of how much Lin makes when with or without him we have no cap space?

Becasue he is unproven and making more then rondo in that 3rd year. This kid couldnt get the ball across halfcourt against the heat and hes a max player. Then he has shown this oppurtinist shady side that every lin fan over looks because like tebow he tanks his lord and savior for everything. These two are oppurtunist period and need to be called out. Lin can kick rocks.

if chris paul has a player option after this season that may be enuf to not sign lin and keep things cheap. knicks may feel that only nash or paul give them a real shot at it all.

Its not worth investing all this time talking about this team if they dont care about winning. I watched these clowns for the last 10 years sport the highest payroll in the league, trade top 5 picks, and overpay in almost everything only to win 20 games and now that the team actually has a chance to win it all they want to get cheap? I dont know the exact details of all this since again I havent been around but if its all just about luxury tax thats a slap to the face to all us fans who stuck by this team when they were a laughing stock.

I mean hey if we dont match and Lin turns into a total bum we'll look smart, but we should still match to at least have him as a trade chip. I dont think a guy who did what Lin did will all the sudden turn into a scrub. He should at least be serviceable in the worst case and should still be tradeable based on his marketability.

As it stands right now the only way the Knicks can win it all is if Lin plays close to what he played like during LInsanity. We arent gonna do anything with Felton. So without Lin we're pretty much throwing in the towel and are just trying to get the 5th seed.

Agreed TW, it's about to win it all while not only being a good/mediocre team. Thus we should get whatever pieces we can.

Exactly.

To hold back now is to say that there are very petty things that this franchise values over a true shot at a title.

waya wrote:Jesus, how does everything get twisted to vilify Melo?

It's pretty insane, TBH.

I believe anyone looking that hard for villains should be looking first at Morey and Lin's agent. News reports are saying the Lin was shocked that the Knicks are considering another direction. But Morey did the Knicks dirty, and Lin's agent - while I'm sure he was thinking he was doing the right thing - did his client dirty by accepting that offer sheet that kills the Knicks.

Perception is reality. People are taking a couple of quotes by Melo and building this construct where Melo hates Lin, is jealous of the deal he may get, is thinking of himself before the team.

Is it not also fair game, by those rules, to assume that Lin has zero loyalty to the Knicks and wants that extra few million, no matter what that does to whatever team he gets it from?

Both scenarios are equally crazy for my money. But if you're going to take Melo's quotes (and the guy did say he wanted Lin back, and nobody knows what's going on behind the scenes here) and present them as 'evidence' that Melo is a petty, jealous person, you also have to allow that if you look at Lin's actions, he's being greedy and really doesn't care about the Knicks.

I'm not buying into either theory. But if you allow for one, you gotta allow for the other.

As a person who has completely blown out his knee - were I going for a contract - I would preserve my future health no matter what. You all want to have altruistic visions of these guys, but they're mercenaries. Lin shutting it down was smart.

lin is going have to make 3 straight all star games if he is worth that contract also he is partly to be blame here why didn't lin go with the first offer 4 year deal that worth 28 million then knew deal came it was 3 years 25 million had third year 15 million worth one season.

What are the details -- I know he got a DUI but what else?

I think it's number two for Kidd so he could be headed to the slammer.

Not unless you match Lin, then trade him, probably Shumpert, and picks... that's if he wants out of LA.

There was no such contract. Only one contract was offered by the Rockets and Lin signed it. Don't get it twisted.

I want Lin back but him punking out in the playoffs and him not really showing that he is a legit starter is a lot of money for him. Then him showing a shadyness in his negotiating practices he can leave. Go have fun in houston and lets see when nash westbrook cp3 have a date with him. That boy is overrated and he thinks hes better then what he is. He is a back up right now not a starter.
