Im stunned at how this is melo's fault in some peoples heads

its amazing

It's not Carmelo's fault. Carmelo is a douchebag and he's choosing to highlight his douchebaggery at the wrong time.

How did Kidd gets classified as a "mentor" once he got to the Knicks? Is it ebcause of his age or that he and Lin have the same roots? WHat in Kidd's past and now present ever made him a mentor to begin with?

The guy is a Hall of Fame point guard and a bad guy. He's a Knick now, so I'll root for the laundry, but I hated him everywhere elese he played, especially with the Nets

Please match Lin now

Saw it. Someone(Kellermen) finally brought up the fact that his acquisition will have no effect on roster flexibility.

But we never offered it. Don't be naive. If it had been offered we would know about it. Especially since Dolan would want fans to know he tried.

It really does sound like Dolan has the personality type such that once someone crosses him or he feels betrayed, he is spiteful and gets into a pissing contest. It's so personal.

So there may not be much hope left unless Charles intervenes. Please discipline your son Charles. He is out of control again.

Felton comes to Dolan's 4th of July party and stuff his fat face ... and Dolan is tickled pink.

There's just no way we're ever getting anywhere with this kind of BS.

What difference does it make? Lin was going to go out shopping anyway.

I used to like Stephen A. Now with his 2nd stint with ESPN he is so annoying and emotional. UGH!!!

A starphucker indeed. Just Keep Lin and it the 15 mill the 3rd year. His next contract you make it more reasonable.

Its just one year of a heavy tax (unless im totally wrong about the consequences.)

If we match Lin, and run with the 4PG squad...

Will all be well in Fury and Falstaffxx's land?

You're not getting Chris Paul.
Not unless you match Lin, then trade him, probably Shumpert, and picks... that's if he wants out of LA.
"you're not getting chris paul"? not carved in stone.

lots of ifs but if that's where paul wants to go it can happen. it falls w/in the 3 year window. one title changes perceptions forever. also worth noting is that melo tried to recruit nash and melo mentioned he expects paul in nyc eventually.

why'd u have to match lin?
Dude. I said that your best chance of getting CP3 was amnestying Amare, signing Tyson, and trading Billups expiring contract, plus future assets.

I still think you could. WHAT I SAID WAS - your best chance at eliteness is to match Lin, and if he develops into a superstar - great ... if he's not 100% what you expect, use him as a primary piece to cobble an offer together for Chris Paul.

Rocket science? No. Why must I explain this to you.

I hardly think Lin would make a difference against the Heat in a playoff series based on previous experiences.

How is a contract ridiculous that everybody saw coming?

The rules allow this. It's a clear loophole with the balloon payment at the end.

Furthermore, it only averages to $8M per over 3 years. That's not high for Lin.

Dolan and his dad have a history of not getting along. James dolan tried to take over the board at cablevision while his dad was still CEO, should tell you what kind of man he is.
