The same Matt Carroll who has shot 27%, 13%, 21%, 37%, and 19% from three since 2008? As our shooting coach?

Here's a list of guys on this team who shot threes at a better percentage than Matt last year: Everyone except Diop and Biz. Even Higgins and Moon.

Moon.

Jamario. F***ing. Moon.

Think about that.

It was a joke.
Just looking for a way to prevent Carroll from picking up his option.

Cheers fats.

Good article, Dunlap is so far proving to be a great signing.

The players are sold at least.

Dunlap showed he wanted the job, and he got it. Shaw and Malone apparently did not seem that enthusiastic. They both wanted the Magic job. Well guess what? They are both out as far as the Magic job. Serves them right. And we got the right Coach.

Yeah, I think that's telling. Once Portland finds a coach at least one of them would had been passed over by 3 different teams, possibly both of them. For them both being the "next super star coach" they sure aren't impressing teams too much. ORL passing on Shaw is even more surprising given the connections. Maybe Shaw and Malone should had taken our gig a bit more seriously....

I know some this is just kind of how things go, but it's really nice to see all the positive talk from the players about Dunlap. I mean the first practice Biz literally ran over to catch Dunlap before he left just so he could shake his hand and say thank you. MKG didn't have to tweet that about Dunlap being a great coach. I think it's also telling just by looking at the game. I don't know why specifically MKG said what he did, but I wonder what happened at halftime. Whatever did, that team was a different team after an awful first half. Even better, they were their best in the last 4 minutes of the 4th quarter.

I don't know if Dunlap is a great coach. But I do know Dunlap seems to be the perfect fix with the young guys. He's obviously VERY detailed oriented and absolutely consumes the game of basketball at all times of the day. He has such a great work ethic, and it will be great for the young guys to see that. We'll see how he does with the Vets, but it seems like players appreciate him just taking time to individually talk to them about the small things they can improve in their game. Things other coaches likely just brushed off as nothing, Dunlap stops to correct and it results in a better player. I want to see what guys like Sessions, Gordon, Haywood and even Thomas say about Dunlap.

"Brian and Neil spoke today and came to the mutual understanding that their job is not the best fit for Brian at this time,'' Stanley said.

The Oregonian has learned the Blazers Final Four coaching candidates: Terry Stotts, Elston Turner, Steve Clifford and Kaleb Canales

Looks like Shaw/Malone is out the running for the Blazers. 2 highly rated ass. Coach with no HC job?! What are these guys doing wrong it the interview?
It was reported that shaw and Malone turned down our coaching position. I don't know if there's any truth but if thats the case... Serve them right. Anyway, couldn't be happier with the FO decision with Dunlap.

Clearly Shaw and Malone are not quite the "super coaches" they were made up to be. They easily could had been turned down by US and we never would had known about it because we are lowly Charlotte.

I couldn't be happier with Dunlap. Neither of those guys will have as much success with this group as Dunlap will have (after seeing practices, summer league). They may be good options for an already groomed NBA team, but for this situation Dunlap is the better coach....I'm now convinced.

Just to keep in in perspective tho, for the last 5 years, up till the day the Bobcats hired him for a job no one thought he had ANY chance of actually landing, folks were saying the exact same thing about Mike Dunlap - except they were talking about his inability to land a D-1 COLLEGE head coaching job.

It just takes the right opportunity at the right time....and that WILL come for Shaw/Malone.

BTW, with Dunlap at D-1, it was never a question of his actual coaching ability, and not even so much his ability as a recruiter. It was perceived that there are certain aspects of high D-1 college that require some things that AREN'T Mike's strongpoints. Gladhanding alumni. Kissing-A$$ for bigwhigs, and the entourages of elite recruits, the fundraising side of things. The need to paint a rosy picture at all times. Mike's much more suited to a Pro organization that has a Owner/EVP, PR Department, and a Sales organizaion, and a scouting department those issues, where his main focus can be pretty much just the actual basketball side of things.

There are tons of coaches in the NCAA right now that couldn't coach their way out of a wet paper bag. However, they are fantastic recruiters and most of the time that's plenty on the college level. Maybe Dunlap was the inverse of that, all the coaching chops in the world won't help you on the college level if you don't get good athletes.

Btw, this is reason #2145856 that the NCAA is a bad thing for Basketball.

Rufus hasn't changed other than the obvious new jersey. Maybe a deeper orange.
