Cool. How is his Olympic run going? I haven't been paying attention. I think he'll be here in August to start training.

Isn't this exactly what BC has said recently? Like at SL or something?

Good stuff. If he's coming into town to sign a contract will there be a press conference too?

He's pretty much our future, if he stinks up the joint and shows no progress, we're in BIG trouble going forward

When you say no progress, I hope you're not thinking the first year. Big men need time to develop, especially someone who has never played North American style basketball. I just hope he gets bigger and stronger the first couple years and focus on the defense.

Credit to triplemke23 for the sig.

By no progress, i mean like playing like Rafael Araujo in his first year. Everyone knew he was junk after that 1st season showed really no skill at all..

I'll bet you Val will have some games where he does look like Hoffa but that means very little in his rookie year.
Just be prepared.

Re: Jonas Valanciunas Summer Discussion II
My honest belief is that Jonas will have really great per36 rookie numbers, and mediocre per game numbers. Due to fouls, adjustments, rookie wall etc. Something like 6 pts, 6 boards, but on high efficiency and lowish minutes.

Playing some games like Hoffa is fine, just not the whole season! I am not expecting him to become an all-star in year #1 or anything, i just want to see something from him this upcoming year to be like " wow, this guy has a chance to be something for us down the road'

Those will be the games where he doesn't have foul trouble, which will be more often than not.
I think he'll benefit greatly from being in Casey's system as well. Though we fouled a lot last year, players got away with more inside than what was possible under Triano.
