Lin will be the only player I root for to absolutely torch my Knicks. I want him to drop 25 and 10 every time we play houston.

Listen the only one to blame is LIN. Blame is not even the right word to use.

He had the 4 year deal that would have been fair and worked fine for the Knicks to match it. Him and his agent go back to Houston, without telling the Knicks, to get more money guaranteed. That put the Knicks in the position they are in right now.

Now there is nothing wrong with what LiN did. He deserves to get as much money as he believes he should get. The problem here was that even LIN should have realized that the Knicks probably would not match that. So in reality, Did LIN not want to be in NY, or did his NEW AGENT advise him to do this. I personally believe he got a little bit of a gassed up head because of the linsanity craze.

In the end, he was right to get his money, but if he really wanted to be a Knick, he wouldnt have went back to houston to lose the last year and get even more money guaranteed

They'll reconsider their stand & do what's right which is bring Lin back. They have to be aware how much of a public relations hit it would be if Lin goes to Houston & becomes an all-star level pg...

That's what he says. He also said there is a "definite faction" of Knicks officials that want to bring Lin back.

THAT Mr. Paco is what I'm "banking" on!

IF the stock price, for whatever reason, does NOT matter to Dolan, then my entire theory is out the window.
Tanking again, I suppose. Is there any other way?

I think the Media is just trolling the fans right now. It gets people to call in and click on twitter all of the time.

1. Lin - not likely that someone is going to want that 15M price tag.
2. Amare - maybe you can trade him but not to a team with cap space. So you'd have to find somebody with a TPE otherwise your just taking salary back which defeats the purpose.
3. Melo - better chance than Amar'e that someone with cap space is going to want Melo.
4. Tyson - see above.

So there lies the conundrum.

Tyson || Melo > Lin

The end of Linsansity is coming. Now it's up to Felton to show up in shape. If he does it's not that big a loss in my opinion.

If we aren't true contenders by the third year, you blow it up. Get as much youth, and as many picks back as possible, instead of giving another series contracts to a core of players that proved they couldn't win in their prime. We'll have Lin and Shumpert in the backcourt and we'll build around them.

Or if Lin proves to be a solid starting pg with flashes of greatness, I bet we'll be able to move him to some team looking to sell tickets and hoping Linsanity returns.

Or you can trade two of Felton, Novak, JR, Camby, and Kidd to lessen the hit by 20 million.

We'll have options.

Lot of ifs there.

1. If we aren't title contenders.
2. If Lin proves he is a max player.
3. If JR doesn't sign a more lucrative extension.
4. If you can trade Felton, Novak, Kidd or Camby without taking back salary.
5. If you can get picks and/or youth back for an aging Tyson Chandler and Stat.

Or you can not sign Lin and hope:

1. If Felton returns to the same as the last time he was here.

One situation has a lot more moving parts.

1. That's what's called a good "if" (would you prefer the definitive we will not be a title contender--that's what no Lin assures).
2. If Lin proves he's a max player, we're paying the tax happily (Holy crap at the idea of Lin being a max player and the amount of money that would bring in). All he has to do is recreate the play he had this year, and he'd be movable. Unless he's an unmitigated disaster we're good.
3. Re-signing Lin signals the end of JR. That's not an if. And that's a major pro to signing him.
4. We'll have 3 million to sweeten, and there's never a shortage of teams willing to absorb talent (we could also trade them 2nd year for someone else's expiring--the possibilities are endless).
5. Chandler, likely. Melo, definitely. Stat, no.

I've wasted enough key-strokes trying to dispelling the Felton myth. Nothing left to say beyond: that's not an if because Felton making this team a contender is not in the realm of possibilities.

How did you know Houston didn't read all the stories about Woodson saying the Knicks would "absolutely" match and then decide to offer more money before Lin's agents could say anything? And with the Knicks widely assumed to be matching any offer (up to a billion dollars), why wouldn't he take the bigger deal?

It does feel like the tide is turning but it's all crap.

I just want the bonus of seeing the Rockets trot out Toney Douglas every night.

BTW as far as breaking the rules and all of that, it's pretty much against the rules to intentionally tank. And please don't tell me the Rockets are not intentionally tanking. Bulls are doing it too. This is like the new fad. It ain't right.
