I hope he sits out. I hope the media and the fans turn on him. Howard is emotionally fragile. That would send a message to him.

I usually don't even waste energy in regards to this fool... But if this happens the magic need to fine him every game. What a POS! honor your damn contract that not only YOU signed for millions but OPTED BACK IN TO!

Karma is a b$tch... Howard will get his. At least Shaq left as a FREE AGENT and never caused a distraction. This a$$hole has held a franchise hostage for going on two years and cost countless people their jobs!

Wouldn't he still be under contract next season if he didn't report? I think that's how it works in the NFL.

I really, really hope so.

Why? So he continue to set an example of what to do when u don't get what u want? He is under contract. On that he not only signed once.. But then opted in to sign again. Let his ass sit out all season and fine his bitch a$$!

What thus a$$hole is doing would be like the Magic woke up one day and said "we don't want to honor our contract with you".. "we decided were not paying you". What would happen then?

If he does this, he should get none of his salary and should be suspended for immature behavior to the detriment of his team.

Dwight needs to be banned from the NBA IMO. Can't stand this guy.

Suspend him for every game he sits out. So if he sits out for 1 year, he gets suspended for the entire year after he wants to come back.

The back injury probably gives him this option. It's the easiest type of injury to get Social Security disability for, among other things, because it is debilitating and very difficult to disprove. Doctors largely have to go off what the patient is reporting.

If his injury is actually severe enough he needs to sit out the season, I'll kinda feel sorry for him. Millions of people will think he's faking.

What annoys me most is that he opted in.

How are you gonna opt in and then ask for a trade in that offseason?

You opt out and if you still want to play there then you can just resign.

But don't lock yourself in by opting in. Now you're stuck when this whole situation could've EASILY been avoided

imo what happened is Orlando promised him everything he asked for at the deadline (pick coach, gm)

then SVG shamed him in the media. Dirty style. And now he wants nothing to do with that team or organization.
