Meanwhile, the Rockets are trying to see if they can set a pro sports record by losing every game and going 0-82. But nobody sees a problem with that.

Until I hear evidence that Melo and Tyson are upset by Lin leaving, it's hard not to feel some pleasure in the idea of finding out the hard way that they needed Lin.
So you're preference is to watch the Knicks lose due to possibly not having Lin?
BTW, what does Tyson have to do with this?
I dunno...guess I should wait for him to get interviewed. But Tyson was brought in for chemistry and it's looking like this might have to do with chemistry issues.

Re: another Lin thread filled with no useful information #6
I really think this is a problem -- sports teams have a mission of winning games. When you pare down a good roster to lose, that's wrong.
Yet again, them changing their offer sheet and being weasels -- no problema.
Sports teams must play to win. When a team like Houston is clearly not interested in winning next year, it damages the integrity of the game.
Even when we were clearing cap room for 2010, we tried to put the best team on the floor that we could WITHIN THE CONFINES of keeping cap room. Rockets are not doing that. It's wrong. It should be investigated.

Tyson is doing his best to avoid the situation.
Whatever said will be misconstrued anyway.

They're paring their roster down to make a run at dwight. That's why they traded Lowry for the lottery guaranteed pick. Maybe the secondary plan, though, is to tank if they don't get him and you're right that there are incentives in place that make it more advantageous to do that instead of fielding an average team.

The Dolan's are worth over $3 billion dollars (Charles is worth $3.3 alone), $50 million in either direction doesn't matter to these guys, especially if it doesn't hurt company stock, which it likely won't.
The guys with the most money are the greediest. My point is I expect this to be a decision not about stock price or PnL - it's going to be about is Dolan going to let Lin dictate the terms. I think Dolan feels he made his offer to Lin and Lin refused it. And now Lin is telling Dolan take this or leave it.
On top of it, I think you got people telling Dolan Lin is overrated (see Melo and JR's comments).
If you are having a hard time imagining the thought process of Dolan - just imagine an uglier, shorter and dumber Donald Trump.
Play time is over.
