Guys, there is no way the Knicks don't match. There is no reason not to. Money? He can make that back and a lot more in TV deals with Taiwan and China, advertising, all the merchandising, jacking up the corporate luxury boxes and ticket prices.

Even this 3 day waiting period has become a hysteria. And they're going to give that up for what extra $10 ~20 M? Come on now.

And Dolan holding grudge? What are you talking about? NBA franchises don't operate on spite over profit and better team. Even if Lin is bad, having him is better than not having from basketball stand point and since money is not an issue here, then what are we talking about?

The Knicks have done stupid things before, but not matching is just unreasonable.

MSG stock dropped 1.61% today.

Probably about $30M of market cap. That's Lin's whole contract and mini-Eddy's contract for this season, combined.

Regardless of the taxes Dolan has to pay if we match wouldn't he lose money by not resigning Lin? Aren't the knicks quoted as saying we would match anything up to 1billion. I haven't been keeping up with all that has transpired, so I don't know what has changed.

I don't understand why we would let him walk.
