Sam Amick ‏@sam_amick

The Kings' Hassan Whiteside was waived to make room for Brooks. Atlanta also waived Jordan Farmar.

Wow....guess we'll have to start JJ now, since Whiteside was our only hope for a big man who could block a shot.

Brooks
Evans
JJ
T-Rob
Cousins

Who gets the ball first?

Sean Cunningham ‏@News10Sean

The Sacramento Kings have announced that they have waived center Hassan Whiteside. Presumably to make room for a contract for Aaron Brooks

Yep. That sucks. I cant see why we didnt try and trade him to a team like Miami for a late 1st or 2nd

Part of me is happy to see that he needs to know that him half assing it won't get it done in the NBA. Other half thinks he might be back after we get rid of some **** from our our SF spots, we may bring him back. Lets see if hes playing tonight.

We never do this. Petrie has no idea what it means to accumulate assets.

What a waste of a pick... We could have had Brockman for a little longer if it wasn't for this spoiled scum. Glad to see him gone!

Not really happy with this. I really wanted them to find him a role and then make a decision on him.

Maybe it's just me but I hated whiteside...seems like a lot of guys on the team didn't care for him either.

We never trade our big men for any kind of value, you should have learned that after what we did to JJ Hickson last year

I'm not all that bent out of shape about this. He looked so many times like he gave zero f**ks that I was pretty much out of hope anyway.

I don't think we could of gotten any value for him, he wasn't very good. I was excited when we first picked him but everytime I saw him play we looked lost and moved like a sloth. Even if he makes it in the nba he is 3 good years away from contributing, so whatever, he's gone, no big deal.

He seems too clumsy to be in the NBA.

Too bad. I was really pulling for Hassan to figure things out. Not mad at the front office for this though, he is a terrible basketball player. Poor coordination and a terrible feel for anything but blocking shots. I hope he works his way onto a roster somewhere but my gut tells me he will never figure it out. I don't think that he has the mentality necessary to be a pro athlete.
