Done with NYK if Lin is not matched ?

Post#421 » by KnicksFan7 » Tue Jul 17, 2012 1:40 am

All people who are done with NYK if Lin is not matched, should just leave now. You aren't now, nor ever were a true fan.

The real poll should be, how many fans will be happy to be done with the "fans" if Lin isn't matched?

The real poll should be how many fans have the nerve to tell a 19 year fan how to celebrate fandom?

Here's one more... and how many of those apparent fans have made significant financial sacrifices to support an inept organization?

19 years! 19 fing years!

I said it before, the so-called "true fans" are only defenders of Dolan's bank account.

What has that **** Dolan done to warrant such loyalty?

Talk about epitome of fake pride.

You're not celebrating fandom by being done with a team because of a player.

The same people saying sign Lin, will be tearing this organization a new one if he turns into a bust. And we'll be getting 557544 posts about how the organization is "inept."

Its not much different than people who used to say "Then why don't you move to Russia" if you had any criticisms of the U.S. government.

Unfortunately, much of the Knicks fan base is too uneducated to know they are basically brainwashed to behave exactly like rednecks. Its all black and white and the lower class element taunts others about being fake fans.

This has proven to be quite illuminating about how many sheep exist in the Knicks fan base. You can identify them easily by their rage at anyone who dissents.

New York City and the general metropolitan area has a large number of trolls and rednecks incapable of independent thinking. They are dumb enough to think being a fan means unqualified loyalty to what is a corporation.

The people who are unafraid to think for themselves don't blindly accept everything. And some them may at some point have had enough and want to take back the time in their life stolen by time given to a corporation that doesn't care about them. Knuckle draggers don't understand this could be a perfectly sane response for some people.

The most common behavior of cult members is attacking those who question the cult. Being a fan is being part of a cult. I've been part of it most of my life, but I've had my reservations and I have limits. Some people will take it up the rear by a cult their whole lives and thank them for it. The way they attack people here is like watching Scientologists attack people who choose to leave their church of lies.

Go buy some Cliff Notes and some ear plugs to stop that whistling sound between your ears.

If I've understood correctly doesn't Lin's new deal has a 15 million opt in after year 3?

If that's not true, I'm a bit salty about not matching... hey, why not.

But that 4th year is really the kicker. Right now our books are set to clear at the end of 2014/2015. Completely. We have the option for a complete and total rebuild at that point.

That deal kills us both ways. If Lin busts... or even if his play is fine but he can't stay healthy (remember, he missed this season's playoffs due to overuse) then his deal is a potential albatross during our next rebuilding period. If he reaches quasi stardom - well, then we have to build around Lin, perhaps before we are really ready to make those kinds of moves.

It's kills the blank slate.

Only if by chance Lin turns out to be one of the true superstars of the league does that 4th year become worth it. That's a big risk.

I'm very disappointed that we aren't keeping Lin. I love his approach to the game and the joy he brought to this team. But this move is really the anti-Isiah. If anything, it's overthinking the future. We're keeping to a forward thinking plan that DOES NOT EXTEND OUR CAP SITUATION ONE IOTA. We make a run with this crew and have the opportunity to start anew.

I'll be here to tell you I told you so if they sign Lin and he's a bust.

By the way, I'm an attorney and I work for a sports organization. So keep telling yourself that most of the posters here are uneducated, knuckle draggers. Think before you start calling people out on their education.

We've been so ridiculously careless with our money for so many years ... why wait till now when we've fallen in love with a player do we decide to look the other way. I feel betrayed.

But we have a real front office now and are no longer foolish with money. Just because you did a million stupid things in the past doesn't justify a stupid think you do in the current moment. The Walsh era brought in relative fiscal responsibility which his successors have thus far continued with.

Nobody on this board is willing to say that Lin is worth this deal and that speaks volumes.

I am cool with all fellow Tri-staters who have been through the pain and suffering of their favorite team making them go insane.

You're all right. I'm a moron for saying that being done with an organization because one player isn't signed is ridiculous.

You got me.

That's where you're wrong, as this thread on starting PG salaries demonstrates. An average of 8 mil a year is more or less market value for a good starter. Mike Conley makes 9 mil a year, so if Jeremy Lin just exceeds his baseline, that will be an undervalued contract.

viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1196163

Oh yeah, the luxury tax. I don't give a **** because it has ZERO bearing on the cap situation. 30 mil to a guy who has 2.6 billion is chump change.

Yet what good has your education done for the formation of your character? You're still pre-occupied with taunting people for their beliefs and saying juvenile things like I told you so. Education doesn't mask bad behavior, it illuminates its failings.
