That's not true. Lin is at fault here too. He went back to Vegas and signed a contract to get the maximum money knowing what it would do to the knicks.

What was he supposed to say... No? I'm fine with the first offer sheet that I read about on twitter.

Nobody even knows if that initial offer sheet was real..

I'm not saying I blame him, anyone would take more money if it is offered to them.

He still needed Lin's signature....

He was going to sign the first offer he got... regardless... what was he expected to do turn them down. No RFA does that. Did Hibbert do that? Did Eric Gordon do that? It's never been done... did Fields do it?

No one is to blame really, Everyone is just playing by the rules... even Jimmy D., as much as I hate to admit it.

Actually not everyone would.

Common sense would tell you it was Morey's move.. Morey is in a pickle of epic proportions... he's desperate.. he just let 2 point guards go.

Do the Knicks really wanna deal with the massive amount of negative PR they'll get if they decline to match? We're talking epic proportions here.

Knicks are matching. I mean, they really can't be THAT stupid.

Edit: And after we match, I hope HOU ends up with no PG, worst record in the L, AND end up losing the lottery with the 3rd pick in the draft. I hate that franchise right now more than I do Boston/Miami.

If they had an verbal agreement on the initial offer and he really wanted the Knicks he could have said something. But it's unrealistic of me to expect a player to be that loyal....

goshjosh wrote:I've seen hardly any Lin fanboys for the past 3 or 4 parts to this thread...

I'm glad, if that's the case. Like I said, I haven't read this thread much. Just think it's ridiculous that it's gotten to Part 7 and am fed up with all the ridiculous "**** This Team If Lin Is Not On It"-styled threads that have popped up over the last few weeks.

Knicks_Fan2 wrote:We will match--and I'm extremely happy about it--but some specific posters are, and will continue to be, unbearable. Was almost looking forward to seem them allegedly exit stage left.

Amen. Not all. Just the ones who are Lin > Knicks fans, IMO

13th Man wrote:So you don't really care about the Knicks winning, you care more about being able to post here comfortably without much noise and getting used to the same old Knicks failing again?

Hmm...perhaps you missed the whole
one of the only reasons I'd be totally fine with not matching is simply to get rid of all these **** Lin fanboys once and for all.

Another reason is that I honestly don't think Knicks not matching Lin = Knicks not winning. At all. And I suppose the whole
At the end of the day, I personally think it's smarter to match Lin. But I suffer enough as a life-long, die-hard Knicks fan.
didn't show that the Knicks winning is my number one priority My point is that Knicks fans are battle-tested. We've been through the fire, and believe me, even on the road to our eventual championship season (whenever that may be), there will be gobs and gobs of **** hitting the fan along the way. It's the Knicks. That's how it goes. I just don't need massive amounts of people both here and in the Knicks community whose only agenda is Jeremy Lin-centered, regardless of the Knicks. I don't want to see a plethora of threads defending Lin's play if/when he isn't necessarily performing to the expectations of his contract, disallowing any criticism towards him whatsoever, and generally bashing Melo in any chance possible (not to say there aren't certain times when it's completely warranted).

Bill Bradley wrote:Wow sad to see that you have regressed.

Funny, I was honestly thinking the same thing earlier when I read a few of your posts on the Lin topic. But then I thought, "I'm not going to make a judgment on a poster I once respected based on his views on one particular Knicks-related topic," and decided to reserve judgment. Sad to see you're making a judgment on me as an overall poster/person based on my feelings towards one particular topic. But there are greater tragedies in life.

knicksnyk wrote:“This offense is guard-oriented,” said Rockets forward Josh Harrellson, Lin’s teammate with the Knicks. “He’s going to have the ball the majority of the time. If you look at our roster, he’s going to be our superstar. In NewYork, you can’t say the same. Hopefully, he can come here, the offense can run through him, and he can make all the decisions for us.

“As you can see, we don’t have a point guard right now. Right now, it’s instant minutes for him. For a kid that wants to play basketball and be part of a team and make it successful, hopefully he can come and do that for us.”

TD's like "WTF?" I'm not a PG?

Well from the story I read it looked like he went out of his way to go back to Vegas and sign the 2nd offer sheet without informing the knicks. So he isn't totally innocent.

No agent on the face of the planet would ever let his client do that... it would be unheard of.. especially when it was public knowledge that the Knicks were going to match anything... for heavens sake the coach was even saying it before the offer was official.

He went out of his way? When your perspective employer is trying to contact you to make a contract official you're going to duck him?
