The part of Woodson's system that Felton fits is not turning the ball over at a high rate. Woodson has admitted that he learned a lot from D'Antoni's implementation of a high-octane, PnR offense, but it is documented not only by Woodson, but also his colleagues, that he prefers ball-control PGs. He favors slower tempo offense, ball control, isolation and post-ups - not PnR. This is not a bad thing, but Lin certainly doesn't come to mind as an ideal fit for that style. More likely than not, Woodson will have to develop Lin in that mold; he is not as good as Popovich to adjust to different styles on the fly. With Felton, you more or less know what you're going to get. You can just instruct him not to turn the ball over, get the ball to Melo and Amare, and shoot when you're open or you have to.
This shows way too much faith in Melo and Amare.

so wait a second...25 games of Lin and you can call someone rediculous for thinking Shumpert who proved all season he is a legit starting SG as a rookie is ridiculous?
I think Lin is good but I am ridiculous to think Shumpert is better?

This greatly speaks about your character. Nice job, dude.
Oh please. It's a joke about someone being so in love with their favorite player that they put a wig on him and take it to another level.
Keep digging that hole. You're doing a great job.

Haha, the same guy also says“We like it when companies shop for bargains, and Ray Felton looks like a bargain compared to Jeremy Lin,” Marangi said. “We’re value investors.”
Sure, I guess Mardy Collins looks like bargain compared to Jeremy Lin as well. Let's go invest in Collins.
I'm tempted to email that guy on Facebook (I looked him up) and ask him how much Dolan paid him to say that. I have run across a couple of illogical articles that talk about how much Linsanity has increased MSG stocks, how those stocks are dipping now, and yet still matching Lin is a bad financial move.
I thought of some bribery there too. Find it hard to believe that paying $50M extra for Lin, with all his cachet as an asset, would be looked at badly by investors.
Kid is 23 and the publicity for the Knicks is worth it by itself. International sensation and a top story in China, the most populous country on Earth. Just the good PR is worth $50M. So how could an investment analyst say that it's a poor decision? Doesn't add up.

For all Knicks' fans saying Lin should be back, ask yourselves this: Do his basketball talents make him worth $15 million in 2014-15?
Is he serious? I'm struggling with this. Does he not know that the first two years are $5 million each? Does he just not care?
If I am a billionaire, still making money off the Knicks and trying to win a championship then yes.

I'm amazed that you can't see the difference between those two scenarios. And it's not that I "want so bad for you to be a racist," it's that I'd prefer you didn't say blatantly racist things to me as part of your strategy for mocking me. I may not continue this conversation, because you're to stupid to understand what I'm saying, but really man.
If I had a picture of Anucha as my avatar and you referred to her as "Melo in a wig" I wouldn't think you were racist, you would be making a joke. That you go straight to "You're a racist" is sad.
That's enough, agree to disagree and drop it. Like I said, it's a fine line and there can easily be a racial implication to what you originally said...so let's just drop it at that. If you guys want to say more about it PM me.
I'm not going to continue it, but I don't by any means "agree to disagree." There was no question it was a racist comment.

Do it matter? The date I join RealGM which coincidence with Lin's stretches of game is your excuse to making a tasteless comment? You want a pat on the back?
Let me make it clear. I'm not a particularly a big fan of Lin neither.

In what areas is Shump better than Lin at besides defense? How many times did we see Shump straight up dominate games and completely decimate the other teams' defense? I think Shump can be a good/great player in the future, but offensively he wasn't much better than Landry last season.

I love Shump, but he finished last season with a PER of 10.83. Lin's was 19.97. Whether you like PER or not, or you think the sample size is too small, that's a pretty large discrepancy.
His defense is much better, but I don't think it makes up for the offensive efficiency Lin displayed.

He ranks 31 among 37 qualified PGs in turnover per games. 71 among all 80 PGs.
A bit better when you look at 48 minute stats. 58 among 80 pgs. Or 28 among 37 qualified.
Certainly he is below average when it comes to turning the ball over.

You think Shumpert proved ALL SEASON he is a legit starting SG?
And during his games, Lin's play didn't suggest "starter" to you? Most of the players in NBA history who ever had a stretch like Lin's at any point in their career had at least very good careers, and many were all-stars, some hall of famers.
This refrain of "25 games..." you know what...there's some risk involved in free agency decisions. You take the risk when the potential reward is so great.

It was a statement...since I don't have a statistical breakdown and the sample size is so small its anyones guess who will be better. I thought some people would be bright enough to infer that that is my opinion.
