I think Lin is good but I am ridiculous to think Shumpert is better?

I love Shump, but he finished last season with a PER of 10.83. Lin's was 19.97. Whether you like PER or not, or you think the sample size is too small, that's a pretty large discrepancy.

His defense is much better, but I don't think it makes up for the offensive efficiency Lin displayed.

And that is your opinion to think so and I will not knock it.

But IMO with Melo and Amare getting most of the touches offensively "offensive effeciency" is not going to be that huge for the knics.

PER is a flawed statistic because it doesn't take into account many of the important defensive statistics.

But you have every right to think that. My opinion is that the offensive system and team we are building here...shumpert is more important for a championship than Lin.

Shumpert's mixed results offensively were more because his skills aren't developed than because of touches. He showed some flashes, and he may be able to develop those skills and become a complete player. If not, he'll still be a good role player (assuming a complete recovery from from injury). But the thing is, Lin was a straight up impact player last year. It shouldn't be debated. He was. You can't put Shumpert's season in the same category as his.

So Kris Huphries is worth 24 million for two years but Lin couldn't possibly be worth 25 million for three?

C'mon! His rebounding is partially due to playing next to (or without) Lopez. He is a decent player. There is no reason to think that Lin wouldn't have at least the same impact on the court.

I wish Dave Chappelle was still doing sketch comedies. I could seriously see him doing a press conference as Dolan.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, members of the press, and Mr Kim's nail salon. Tonight we have reached a seminal decision on the Jeremy Lin situation. As you know, we had until tonight to match Houston's contract. And after a long deliberation we have concluded that the Knicks organization will not... WILL NOT EVER LET THIS **** GO. Surprise b*tchez!!! **** is you crazy. Do you know how much money I make off this mothafkka. Hea hea hea. I brought two spaceships that went to Mars, b*tchez... Spaceships!! Marrrrrssss!! Dolan is living for the ciitttyyyyy."

SAS has been pullling the same bs but stretching it even further to make it seem as though Lin will be a 30M player.

Not only that, but we have 2 full seasons where we are paying him $5M/yr to evaluate whether or not he is worth that third season.

Where is the risk?

risk is

Lin not wanting to play here because of all the drama... from the media, owner, and players

I want him as far away from the New York Media... so SAS can only biatch about Lin 2 times a year when the Rox and Knicks meet up...

sorry to the Knicks fans that want him here, and have to put up with the drama.... to the haters they should be happy if Lin goes...

I am not going to get into Lin vs Shumpert battle. If I had it my way they both would be on the team starting next year. But thats not my decision to make.

I was simply pointing out that when a poster said maybe we could trade amare to avoid the luxury tax and add shumpert as a piece to make someone take him.

I simply suggested that my opinion that for what the knicks are currently building and there system Shumpert is more important and I believe he will be a better player.

At the end of the day its such a small sample size for both players it is really anyones guess. Both are good young players though...i just think shumpert d is so valuable to this team,

Alan Hahn reported that Thomas looked at Lin last season with a crazy eye.

I am sick of the Rockets always owning us in trades. Just match the offer to screw them over so they stay in mediocre zone and get another lotto pick in the 10-14 range again.

Yes, people misread it but since I made the joke I'm responsible for putting it out there. I apologize for that.

To be honest, we should refuse to deal with Morey anymore. I'm sick and tired of him making us his b*tch.

Is there any way we can keep Lin but all the Lin bandwagoners can go jump off a cliff?
