I'm getting tired of idiot media members trying to spin Lin's contract making it seem as though he has to live up to expectations of a 15M/yr player. Logically, spread over 3 years he is really a 8M/yr player but they seem to keep ignoring the fact that he's only making 5M each for the first 2 years.

SAS has been pullling the same bs but stretching it even further to make it seem as though Lin will be a 30M player.

Everything was great when the deal was 3yr/19mil -- it was a steal supposedly. It's raised by 6mil (2mil/year) and now it's, Lin's only making slightly less than Lebron!!

To me, this reeks of a set-up. They don't want Lin back -- for whatever reason, basketball reasons, personal reasons, whatever -- and they want to put it on Lin and not themselves for a hard decision.

Stop referring to Lin's third year as $14.8M and call it what it really will be...$45M+ because of the luxury tax. Realistically, his contract is like $55M+/3 years. Is Lin worth $18M/year? I don't think he is. Would he add much marginal value when we have Kidd and Felton, as well as Shumpert coming back mid-year? I think he would but not $18M/year's worth. Do I want Lin back? Ofcourse, who doesn't? He's a great player, a good guy, and he's easy to root for. But given how much he costs, I can understand if they don't resign him. The most luxury tax Dolan's ever spent was $62M in 05-06, which is a lot, but they did also just spend a billion dollars renovating MSG so maybe they want be a little more thrifty. We'll find out soon enough...

The funny thing about Lin is that he can avg 15/8 here and be treated like a God. He woulsnt have to do anything special. If he leaves this team and puts up those numbers he will be ridiculed.
