I'm not telling you not to be offended, I'm telling you that your feigned, pompous outrage and massive mischaracterization of what Red Vines said was idiotic. There are similarities between situations. I know nuance is hard.

You see, the difference is that he really did make an offensive comment. Situations differ from one another. I know it's a headache to deal with nuance.

I sincerely doubt there will be a press conference. They will just issue a statement.

Despite the drama this caused on this board, matching or nor matching your RFA is pretty routine in the NBA

They won't be mediocre. They're a bottom 3 team.

Lol you dont know what you are talking about... Their 3 first round picks are all very legit, and they are in a very good situation financially no matter what happens. Sorry not to hate just to hate, but knicks could take a front office lesson from the Rockets.

It says that CBA does not allow the Knicks to offer 25 million dollar for three years.

No evidence of this and recent reports are the opposite. Get facts right or go away.

Logically, spread over 3 years he is really a 8M/yr player but they seem to keep ignoring the fact that he's only making 5M each for the first 2 years.

SAS has been pullling the same bs but stretching it even further to make it seem as though Lin will be a 30M player.

Everything was great when the deal was 3yr/19mil -- it was a steal supposedly. It's raised by 6mil (2mil/year) and now it's, Lin's only making slightly less than Lebron!!

To me, this reeks of a set-up. They don't want Lin back -- for whatever reason, basketball reasons, personal reasons, whatever -- and they want to put it on Lin and not themselves for a hard decision.

I miss posting on realgm. Fact is I enjoy reading you guys going nuts. Honestly i hope to God that the knicks have this under control. At this point I honestly don't care because the knicks can never stay out of drama. Mike Woodson said we would definitely match and he will be our starting PG. Why say that if it is not true?

I am moving to China in just over a month. When I told my dentist it was my last appointment he started with the "Chinga chong" fake chinese talk and slanted his eyes.

It makes me think the guy is an idiot but no need to go into a rage like you are.

Stop referring to Lin's third year as $14.8M and call it what it really will be...$45M+ because of the luxury tax. Realistically, his contract is like $55M+/3 years. Is Lin worth $18M/year? I don't think he is. Would he add much marginal value when we have Kidd and Felton, as well as Shumpert coming back mid-year? I think he would but not $18M/year's worth. Do I want Lin back? Ofcourse, who doesn't? He's a great player, a good guy, and he's easy to root for. But given how much he costs, I can understand if they don't resign him. The most luxury tax Dolan's ever spent was $62M in 05-06, which is a lot, but they did also just spend a billion dollars renovating MSG so maybe they want be a little more thrifty. We'll find out soon enough...

Possibilies the "Stretch Provision" could save Dolan from the huge Tax hit in yr 3. If Lin busts he could be waived and the money can be paid out in the following 3 yrs.

I want to believe that we are just milking this too. But Woodson said those things before the new contract was offered

He flew to houston not once but twice, then flew out to Vegas again to meet with the Rockets but you don't think he wanted to join them?

That was before we got the PG version of JR Smith :D Woodson is salivating at the idea of throwing Felton out there and giving him the green light.

The initial comment I made was all of 3 words. "That's pretty offensive." The fake apology did ramp up my annoyance level a bit.

There's no doubt that Lin is the best pg we can get right now. Dolan needs to decide if he's worth 100million though

The funny thing about Lin is that he can avg 15/8 here and be treated like a God. He woulsnt have to do anything special. If he leaves this team and puts up those numbers he will be ridiculed.

Why do you insist it's fake, man? Geez. He said some pretty offensive s*** but you can't chase him to the ends of the earth for it. How do you know if he's truly repentant or not?

Nah. The contract is more like 100 billion dollars.
