bring them both up and get rid of a bullpen piece. Having Gose and Snider as far as that goes would make it intresting to watch for a few games.geez i really hope joey bats aint gone for long it would really put a dent in making the WC spot. and would of been intresting to see were his stats ended up

Totally understand that sentiment but would he do any worse than Rajai Davis? He is at least a better fielder and baserunner (I would hope).

I am Glad that they want to bring Gose. If it turns out he can't hit MLB Pitches, they could try to convert him to a Pitcher.

A Pitcher that can steal bases, and be a defensive replacement. It's an outside the box thought, but they should try it.

Also, why are teams scared of trying it? Isn't a P/PR/defensive replacement more dynamic than a Bullpen pitcher? Instead of having to decide if you want an extra bullpen arm or bench player, you could go with the 2 for 1 approach.

I'm sure calling up Gose as opposed to Snider has everything in the world to do with, that when Snide's get's the call back up, he's here to stay. Now I wouldn't mind seeing him over Rajai in left field, but I'm not sure the orginization is at that point yet... as such, it's Gose over Snider, and if it's just for 2-3 weeks, I don't really mind that personally.

Bautista to 15 day DL, Morrow to 60 day DL, as per Sam Consentino on baseball central at noon, will try finding a second source

Edit:

Blue Jays-Official @BlueJays

.@BlueJays have placed @JoeyBats19 on the 15-day DL with left wrist inflammation and have selected the contract of outfielder Anthony Gose

^^ could be better, could be worse.

The morrow part is what really stings. Guess we have our built in excuse to not upgrade the team this year. :-?

The end of this week should settle this whole buyers vs sellers debate. More than likely going to be sellers. The 2nd wildcard is giving us mathematical hope that they can pull it off, but realistically we're not even close. Injuries will be the scapegoat for yet another season.

so our left fielder is getting benched, our right fielder goes on the DL - and we still cant find at bats for snider? at this point i just feel bad for the kid. AA is doing him real dirty for whatever reason.

Jose swinging at those Home Run Derby swings caught up. Good way to give him some time off and bring Gose up to show case some talent. Really hope Gose gets us a few wins with his electric speed!

not to mention the fact that gose's main value is as a centrefielder with his speed and defence. putting him in a corner outfield spot just magnifies his questionable offence and handicaps his defensive skill. this is just abnormal on many levels.

Look, I'm all for Snider too, but don't you think it's just a little bit possible that they've told him what they need to see before they call him up? Since it's fairly clear that his next shot will be his last shot and LV success proves as close to nothing as possible, I tend to the opinion that he's been given direction about approach or something and he's still working on it. That doesn't mean they're unhappy with him, but maybe now they're finally doing what should've been done with him 4 years ago and aren't willing to compromise that schedule for the big club. Of course that's wild speculation, but I see no reason for anyone to believe AA and co. have an actual gripe against the kid. I think they've had him yo-yo-ed so many times, partially their own doing, that they've stuck to their guns this time no matter what.

As for Gose, good prospects usually get a September taste, but I don't have a problem with him getting a mid-July one. I don't expect he's staying, and I'm sure they've got their fingers crossed he looks good enough to increase his prospect value. I'm not saying they plan to move him, but 50 good ABs at the big club might actually push some GMs in a direction, whereas Snider's prospect needle is going to need a lot more than that before he starts changing people's minds.

I'll admit both points are the most positive spin you can probably put on the scenario, but I promise they aren't jerking Snider around just for the fun of it and they won't be throwing Gose to the wolves unless they think there's some value in it, hopefully both for him and the club.

What do you think that would accomplish? Snider sucks so I don't know why people are crying that he was not called up. Holmes adds NOTHING to this board. When you repeat the same negative crap over and over you are not actually accomplishing anything. Nobody will take you seriously.

Can Snider be sent down to the minors in spring training if we do not call him up this year?

No, he wouldn't have to clear waivers. He's on his last option; it lasts through the year no matter how many call-ups.

Ah, but are we sure AA knows that?

Hey, if we're second guessing every potentiality before it even happens, can't I have a go at his basic competency just for poops and giggles? :D

Knock yourself out.

But I happen to agree with you on the reasons for Gose and not Snider. Let's jut hope that AA agree with us, too, and isn't being stubborn on Snider.
