Is Lin worth $18M/year? I don't think he is. Would he add much marginal value when we have Kidd and Felton, as well as Shumpert coming back mid-year? I think he would but not $18M/year's worth. Do I want Lin back? Ofcourse, who doesn't? He's a great player, a good guy, and he's easy to root for. But given how much he costs, I can understand if they don't resign him. The most luxury tax Dolan's ever spent was $62M in 05-06, which is a lot, but they did also just spend a billion dollars renovating MSG so maybe they want be a little more thrifty. We'll find out soon enough...

This is such a bad argument it hurts me to read it. Felton just signed a contract and guess what? We will be over the cap with him too. Is he worth 8 million a year? If we somehow traded for Lebron without giving anything up we would be paying him around 40 million+ a year - is he worth that?

he's basically saying he doesn't like to lift weights but prefers to be in basketball shape(losing weight by running up and down during practice and games).

And I don't agree with the locker room discord theory if we match.

All Line has to do is to tell the media he's picking up the dinner tabs and is gonna buy JR a nice watch for christmas. Whether JR still holds a grudge after that is Woodsons problem

Here's the full quote

Alan Hahn
Meanwhile, Raymond Felton's weight will be a topic of conversation when training camp opens in October. Felton has said he likes to come into camp overweight because he loses it during camp and he likes to play "heavy" because it helps him feel stronger.

That theory will certainly be put to the test this season, as Woodson has warned his players to show up at weight and in shape. Those who know Felton well believe Woodson may be just the right coach for Felton, who is a fiery competitor.

But McMillan is the hard-driving, motivational type, too, and Felton did not respond well. At one point last season, Felton expressed his frustration with McMillan: "Never in my days playing basketball have I felt like a coach wasn't confident in my ability."

Felton was putting up career-best numbers (17.1 points per game, 9.0 assists per game) with the Knicks before the trade but what must be noted is that he was playing as the primary ball handler in Mike D'Antoni's pick-and-roll system. Felton and Amar'e Stoudemire developed good chemistry -- though it took time -- and the belief is the two should be able to reconnect again in Woodson's offense.

Yeah EXACTLY - this puts us further in the luxury...so DON'T GO INTO THE LUXURY CAP TO BEGIN WITH ON 40-YEAR-OLDS AND FATS INSTEAD OF BRINGING BACK BACK OUR 23-YEAR-OLD POINT GUARD. Am I yelling?

Felton will be in the best shape of his life coming into this training camp--I do not doubt this. I fear his shape in subsequent offseasons though when he gets "comfortable" here.

It would work better if he got "heavy" from working out and putting on actual muscle mass. Instead, he's too lazy, so he's substituting fat for muscle in order to get the same bulk. Of course, the fat gives him the same bulk feeling without the actual effectiveness of having muscle bulk, which means it probably doesn't work. Lazy ass.

Signing Lin would make this team a contender IMO.

Of course they'll probably pass on that.
