Grant "over the" Hill

Post#1 » by RiversideClips » Tue Jul 17, 2012 2:29 pm

Realistically, will he come & do we want/need him? Do you think he will sign for 2-3 million for a season or two & how much does he really have left in the tank? I think he may have 2 more years left, but I would rather go younger than older. If we do sign him for 2 years, we know in 2 years that we will have some money to give to our younger players.
Just seems like the off season FA being signed are decent, but OLD.
I would still love to get a BIG body that can eat some minutes while Blake & DJ rest.

John Gambadoro ‏@Gambo620

Grant Hill is going to the Clippers.

You will love him. Classy guy, great defender and leader.
Hill on Nash going to the Lakers: “That’s like transferring from Duke and going to Carolina.”

I like how Username GrantHill is the first to respond, so he only remaining roster spot is the backup C.

Paul / Bledsoe
Billups / Crawford
Butler / Hill
Blake / Odom
DJ / ????

Just need some guy that can play like 10-12 MPG since there will be some small ball lineups happening to get Odom more minutes. Still the same usual suspects,

Love the addition of Hill. Will be a great veteran presence off the bench and a fantastic locker room character to have on a team. He and Butler will provide stability along the wing.

This is a great pick up!! Absolutely amazing, not jsut because we needed a good back up SF, but because

Grant HiIll chose us over Lakers and Heat. Nash probably tried to get him to the Lakers and he could have chosen the Heat and almost guarantee (yes yes I said it) to get a ring.

Im happy :D

Grant Hill to sign with L.A. Clippers

In a significant blow to its Los Angeles rival, the Los Angeles Clippers are finalizing a two-year contract with free agent Grant Hill, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The Clippers have several ways to complete the deal, including through a sign-and-trade with the Phoenix Suns or using its bi-annual exception.

The Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks had recruited Hill heavily to sign with them, but Hill decided on the Clippers and was finalizing terms of a deal on Tuesday, sources said.

Hill averaged 10 points, three rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes a game for the Suns a year ago, and joins an upgraded roster that includes recent additions Jamal Crawford and Lamar Odom.

Hill will turn 40 years old prior to the start of the 2012-13season.

Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo! Sports

My guess is that we used the BAE.

This is a really big signing for us. Not so much what he will add to the team, but what it means we are as a franchise now. To bring a guy at the twillight of his career who obviously wants a ring and could have signed with the Lakers and Heat really says a lot. On the floor it's a great signing as well. I see him playing most of the big minutes at the 3 come playoff time...assuming he is healthy!

Good Mini-MLE pick-up unless they change it to a S&T for Ryan Gomes, which I'd prefer since we still need a CE. Our bench is rounding out nicely. Bledsoe - Crawford - Hill - Odom - ?

I'm mainly joking, he's a great pickup for us.

I will say that I didn't like the way he handled the incident on the fab 5 documentary with Jalen Rose I felt was really unecessary. Jalen wasn't saying that's how he felt now, but how he felt back then.

He had a right to speak his mind on that, but anyone who can fully understand what he was writing could feel that even though those comments were clearly of how Jalen felt as a teenager, they stung Grant Hill as a grown man. It seemed he had some deep wounds in regards to that, so I don't hold it against him. Very intelligent man, great basketball player though.

Annoying freaking commercials too.
