What happened when Lin got hurt last year? The Knicks were derailed. Kidd is in no condition to be a starter. Felton is getting paid like a backup. Nothing more. They still need Lin as much as they did before they got Felton. C'mon now. People act like Felton resolves thier needs at PG. Why?

I agree they should bring back Lin, but if they do then the Felton trade makes zero sense. Lin is being paid like a star, Kidd is being paid like a starter to back him up, and Felton is being paid like a backup to ride the pine. All 3 would be overpaid in this scenario.

Kidd and Felton are both being paid like backups. There's no overpaying involved. Actually, if you think about how Duhon is getting paid more than both of them, you might call Kidd and Felton UNDERPAID. Lol.

All the wait... We must avoid dealing with the Lakers and choose Houston as our top partner.

If we get to deal with the Lakers, We must receive Bynum/Gasol, otherwise we would get Bynum/MWP - that make me sick.

What difference does houston or LA make for us? we'd still have to get through the Heat, and we are not going to contend for quite a few seasons.

Difference? Do not let the Lakers keep winning championships, Unless your a Lakers fan!!!

Kidd is being paid $3 million a year, that's easily backup PG money and not starter money. Regardless, I agree that the Knicks will overpay at the PG position if they match Lin. But NY really has some issues with offense when its Carmelo and Amare trying to carry the load and Felton is backup quality so NY probably has to match Lin's offer.

I would suspect that Kidd won't be around for the length of his contract (3 years) so that the end rotation will be Lin and Felton.

No thanks , it makes no sense for the team with the best player to help out two teams get better whil the Magic just bank everything on a potential future.

You do not do a three way trade unless it unloads us of all of our bad deals, gives us a core of players NOW that can develop AND provides us with multiple (3 or more first round picks, including the Dallas and Toronto picks)

LOL WUT?

I don't think that statement is as asinine as people are making it out to be.

Bynum is younger, bigger, and is already a unanimously better offensive player. Dwight remains the better center because of his health (which no one knows what his health will be like now...) and his defense. With that being said though:

No way the Lakers give up both Bynum and Gasol for Dwight..and if they did they would be the ones recieving pieces back for Gasol, not the Magic. Why would LA send out two all-star 7 footers for one? I thought for over a year now it has been known LA won't give up both for Dwight, so why are all these Magic fans suddenly saying "both or gtfo".

That's cool and all, but I just hate thinking that LA will have yet another powerhouse team. It would be nice to have it as easy as laker fans, so spoiled, never have to deal with the tough times.

I want Gasol and Bynum if we trade from LAL. Then, we trade Gasol for a good young wing player and we'll be alright.
Not changing this Sig until the Orlando Magic win a championship (Technically Started 1-30-08)

+1 we are making two teams to contend each other while we keep navigating in the same cruise... If we make a deal better be with Houston by himself. Or with some other team like the ATL/Houston/Magic.

If Bynum was on Howard's level the Lakers would be in the finals the last two years, possibly winning. lets not undersestimate Howard since he wants out. He is a top 3 player in the NBA and a possible MVP.

I never ever disputed Dwight was better the last two years. The entire premise of the statement was potential going forward..and that goes the guy who has a real post game. Do you really think in 5 years Dwight will still be the same player he is now? He has a ton of minutes on his body and back injuries on athletes never really go away. Kobe and KG started breaking down athletically at like 29, Dwight is already getting close to 27 - and their games were way more suited to the long term. When Dwight's athletism goes his offense production is going to plummet. I mean do you really think he's suddenly going to pull a respectable jumper? I got hyped after he trained with Hakeem, but that turned into nothing. His free throw troubles (and by extension 4th quarter issues) are there to stay. Bynum has the potential to turn into something special, it's just up to him to do something about it.

If we're just completely ignoring his back issues than what you said is right, but I don't think I can think of a single player who had back surgery and wasn't affected by it going forward

So he stiffed us again? Basura!

i'm ecstatic about this. I've been biting my tongue on this, but...
Fran is one of the most overrated players I have ever seen. He's almost 30 and until very recently, struggled to get regular minutes in the euro league.

Let's be honest, everyone pined for him and had delusions of his potential impact because it was too hard to admit that he is the biggest blown draft picks in the history of this franchise.

Renounce him, sweep his name under the rug, and remember him only for the cause of never making the same mistake again.

It pains me to say it but I don't see any team we can construct beating what Miami has put together. Now if we trade dwight to the lakers we are screwed for at least 3-4 years until kobe retires.

It seems like no matter what we do we will not get near a championship for at least 4-5 years. Lets go full blown tank and pray to land the next superstar.
Gotta love Loyalty! Go Magic!

Damn, that's disappointing. I had to look it up and you're right. He signed with them on July 9th.

Lamb and White are not yet signed so that's good to hear. Crosses fingers.
