I just want to say that my confidence in the Nets this season (and even still in the Dwight sweepstakes) is at an all time high.

They can take back duhon, Davis, Richardson, And q-rich. It's my opinion that we'd do ourselves some favors by scrounging around and getting them 1 good draft pick

But How does Orlando hold onto this guy for 4 more months?

If they cant get a better deal than we can offer? They do it easily. Summer time do nothing. It will matter come the start of the season. So? Tell him to nurse the back injury if its too volatile to have him around. Just tell him to stat home for 10 weeks.

Or, tell him he HAS to show up and either you sell tickets off his name or he refuses to show up and you dont have to pay him.

Either way...this assumption he MUST be traded has always been based on the idea that Orlando would get a better offer. If they cannot get Dwight to budge on an extension for anyone but us...and no one will beat our offer without it? Then the ball is in their court. Either way?

I will say what I have said since the beginning. We remain in this until the day Dwight caves. So just hope he can see the big picture and that he doesnt fall for a Mitch Kupchack back rub and a Stevie Nash pillow fight.

I think we're going to be a better defensive team than people think. Hump and Wallace will most likely be the 4th and 5th options for scoring and Lopez at the 2nd/3rd. This gives them the ability to spend a lot of energy focusing on defense and boards. I like it!

I think our scoring will be

DWill - 1A , Lopez - 1B
JJ - 2
Crash - 3
Tele/Hump/Brooks - 4

And I agree about the defensive comments you made, I think we're going to be an excellent defensive team this season.

DWill will come into training camp with another Olympic Gold medal (hopefully) and will embrace the role of leader and captain of the team with so much enthusiasm. Everything else will just fall into place this season. I'm on such a high about this season right now.

Only thing is I still think we need another true defensive SF, unless we're bringing in Toko. However I think we should keep him in Europe this season (along with Bogs) since there won't be much time available for them.

Grant Hill to the Clippers...

I say bring in Pietrus or Barnes at this point. We just need 10-15 minutes a night out of them. I think Avery is going to do a lot of DWill/Brooks/JJ lineups when we need points. Either guy for vet's min wold be awesome IMO.

This is key too because he didn't play 100% last season knowing we weren't making the playoffs and if he was even gonna be with the franchise beyond the season. But now that he is a lock for five years. (as long as he stays happy) He'll be much more into games and more of a leader.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
