If I had a dime for every post that said " lamb + parsons + Jones + Toronto's pick bluh blah bluh blah..." yes we know what everyone wants from Houston.

In the real world that would be awesome, you have to admit that.

Houston is our best trade partner. I'm fully just waiting for the whole Lin/Asik contracts to get resolved before we make the deal.

If Bynum is damaged goods, what is Dwight?

Bynum stayed healthy throughout a lockout shortened season and is getting the Kobe knee-surgery in Germany..I'm not sure it is right to call him damaged goods

Your point that Dwight is hurt is irrelevant. Teams still want to trade for him. So what we need to do is make our smartest decision. You're suggesting that it's ok to trade for a hurt Bynum because Howard is hurt too. I can sense your hope in thinking Bynum will have a long, healthy career the rest of the way out, but I think you're only beguiling yourself. History is not kind with Bynum and his health.

Trading for Bynum comes with much higher risk than trading for Kevin Martin, prospects, picks and cap relief.

OK Start Rip with KMart at SF. It will raise both their trade values. They would both be shipped to a contender by the trade deadline anyway.

This is the trade I would like if we have to deal with the lakers. Gets Dwight to the spotlight so he can stop crying, and keeps the 13 year old trapped in a 70 year olds knees away from our team. Win/win.

Magic

Donatas/Kyle
BBD/Andrew/Harper
Parsons/White
Kmart/Lamb/Liggins
Nelson/Westbrook? or perhaps Machado...

I really don't know why people come up with trade scenarios.

So we can say, "Yeah, that sounds good!"???? ... While the realistic chance that it happens is absolutely ZERO?

How is he anything but damaged goods? Bynum has been injured more than healthy. He's had serious knee Injuries multiple times.

Saying he's not damaged goods because of 1 healthy season is asinine.

Maybe we have different definitions of "Damaged Goods".To me, having a full season while healthy and being the second best center in the league at 24 years old =/= damaged goods. Damaged goods implies a player is broken down.

However I would be willing to agree that Bynum, just like all big men including Dwight, is prone to freak accidents that result in injury yet in spite of that he still plays at an All-NBA level while healthy.

Bynum is injury prone. Dwight isn't.

Sounds better. But definite can flip them both that way. Would rather keep the younger parsons.

I've been warning those in denial for years on here and elsewhere that he does not care to challenge himself by vaulting to the next level - even though it's been there for the taking. He cares way more about being around family, friends, people who speak his language, his culture, familiar location, etc. There's nothing wrong with that, but I'm just saying it's been obvious for quite some time. I'm glad he didn't come this year because he's not even that good in his last prime years and his heart obviously would not have been in it. At least it's over now... no way anybody wants this fool here after his next contract.

I'm fine with him not coming over but I don't agree he is scared of the competition. His wife wants to live in Spain and that's where he's staying. Same thing happened with Hedo, Melo, and many other married men.

Come on... sure, his wife may want to stay home, but he's the money-maker... the multi-millionaire. He can go wherever he damn well pleases and his wife would likely follow and adjust. Basketball gave them the life they have, so if he truly wanted to challenge himself, he could and would have. Don't put this all on his wife. He doesn't have that fire to give up his comfort zone to play at the highest level.

Using the phrase "putting it on his wife" implies something negative happened. It's a negative for us that he didn't come here, but it's obviously a positive for him and his family if he stayed in Spain. Spain is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and I don't blame them a bit for wanting to live there instead of Orlando, Florida. He's making a ton of money in his home country in his hometown where his wife and family are happy. If you want to blame him not wanting to give all that up on him being a pussy then fine. Whatever works for you.

I think no matter what we would want Bynum and take our chances because it is the hardest position in the league to fill and the chances of us getting another chance at a center of his caliber is more remote than actually getting lucky enough to draft one.

Bynum, minus his uncertain health, is really the only true back to the basket center in the league. He has been tutored by Jabbar for years and now he has a more refined game. He is in the position to go to a team he can call his own. One year with the Magic making him the center piece may be all it takes to get him long term. Also because of his still young age he could grow with Nicholson and any other young piece we put next to him. If we have a chance to get him and move out out long term contracts that puts us in the position to go after Ellis next summer and maybe even CP3.

Point being is we would be reloading versus rebuilding and it may be a better long term result.

It seems many magic fans forget how hard it has been to replace Shaq since he left. It took Howard until 2008 to actually be considered in Shaq's shoes. That is 12 years from the time Shaq left. I do not think Magic fans are prepared to last 12 more years for another future. SO you go and get the future now in Bynum and make him the team.

There is definitely risk in the draft/prospects. I know everyone is high on OKC..but busts happen. I'm not sure how you can say Bynum is a risk and the draft is not.

So hypothetically if Bynum requests a trade when he gets here do we ride it out again? Cavs and Rockets will have cap space.

Well if the Lakers are going to throw the farm at us for Dwight, then Houston is no longer in the running for Dwight. At that point Houston has to look themselves in the mirror and ask if the deal is worth it.

Otherwise, we can turn Gasol to OKC and maybe get Harden + Scrubs. Gasol would fit well on that OKC team and screw the Lakers at the same time.
