Damn it...I've now agreed with two of skins posts...in one day!!

Why do people think we have to have a back to the basket dominant center when clearly the trend has shifted to a perimeter oriented game? Just because Dwight was one doesn't mean thats what we HAVE to get in return.

Guards, & SF are a dime a dozen in the NBA, which is what we would get from Houston. Draft picks are a much much higher risk than a Center, who is 24 years old and putting up 18 & 12.

Good young ones with high potential are not a dime a dozen... and you don't see teams trading them away.

If we could manage Gasol/Bynum for Dwight +++ I would like to see if we could move Gasol to Minnesota for D.Williams/Barea/filler

Pretty much this.

Don't be prisoners of the moment. This is very cyclical. After Jordan's second 3-peat, here's a the list of NBA champions: The ones in bold had a dominant center or PF.

1999 Spurs (Duncan and Robinson)
2000 Lakers (Shaq)
2001 Lakers (Shaq)
2002 Lakers Shaq)
2003 Spurs (Duncan)

2004 Pistons
2005 Spurs (Duncan)
2006 Heat (Shaq)
2007 Spurs (Duncan)
2008 Celtics (KG)
2009 Lakers (Gasol)
2010 Lakers (Gasol)
2011 Mavs (Dirk)

2012 Heat

Yes. A lot of these teams had stellar guards as well. But none of them win without their great PF or Center. That's 12 of the last 14 champions that had a dominant PF or Center. Last year was not the norm (and you can make a case the Heat do not win without Bosh).

So let's be careful when we say you don't need a big to win a trophy, because the facts clearly state otherwise.

That list is litered with PFs. If you look at the statement... we're talking about needing a dominant Center. A lot of people are saying we need Bynum, because Centers are so rare, but that's not really requirement to build a championship team.

All you did was pretty much twist the argument to include PFs, when were talking about Cs.

The problem with that is, we already are stacked at PF with young players, and i really like williams, but what are we gonna do with him?

total BS
You're grasping at straws. Go back and read all the posts that say all you need is dominant wings.
That's delusional.

Duncan may be listed as a PF, but that guy is a post-up machine. The only two on that list you could argue play a more outside the paint are KG and Dirk.

Last year was the exception, not the rule. Just because you want something to be true, doesn't make it true.

I could have sworn that Bostons Center was Perkins. They should change that list to say a dominate post presence, not center.

Dominant offensively in the post, or defensively. Both? Saying you don't need an offensive or defensive presence in the post is ridiculous, you can't win being that one-dimensional. But do you need the best defensive center in the league to win? The most talented offensive post player? Questionable. How much can you sacrifice a position in order to get a talent in another position? How bad can your center be at offense? Depends on how good your PF is I guess.

Don't worry guys, Rockets already lost both Dragic and Lowry this summer, and at 11:59pm tonight, when they lose out on Jeremy Lin, they will be begging for Chris Duhon!!

You gotta believe!!

They will need Duhon, because now Aaron Brooks is out of the market... or they will try to bring Steve-O, Iverson or Marbury?

I'm not talking about your run of the mill sf/sg I'm talking about an elite player a dynamic wing player. Not that there are any available to us right now. Just saying that its obvious you don't win with a dominant center in todays NBA.
