This is finding your woman in bed with another man. It's horrible to go through it but at least you know what you're dealing with. No reason to stay in that relationship anymore.

To each his own though -- I know a lot of you will soldier on and I commend you for it.

Don't forget the many "soldiers" that didn't want him to begin with.

oh well some of you guys act like this is a surprise, we are in good hands for less money with proven players in Kidd and Felton, Knicks making a sound buisiness decision and some of you are mad. at the end of the the luxury tax probably didn't justify Lins salary even with the extra money he may bring them, remember Merchandise sales are shared among the league, season ticket holders purchase season ticket in advance we sell out 98% games anyway, Cable company have 5 year contracts, only thing they will miss is advertising sales for cable. Lin and his agent over played their hand assuming Knicks will pay the luxury tax, now Lin will miss out on millions in endorsement he could have made in NYC, Linsanity would have never been as big unless it happens in NYC, media capital of the world, endorsements would have easily surpassed his salary

Stupid move by the knicks, but not surprising for a dumb franchise like the knicks.

Melo, JR, Woodson, Grunnie and Dolan are going to hell for this when they die. Book it. They've sold their soul and for what? To be part of a cool kid's club?

5 mil per 2 yrs , who cares about the 3rd. We can trade by then or maybe we are even championship caliber...

We are gifted a good young player with Global appeal and we let him go for NOTHING

Good riddance, he used us and we have no idea what type of player he's going to become. Having said that, I would have matched, simply because the stretch rule would have saved us if 1 he doesn't turn out be a great player, or 2, we can't trade him down the road. I still think we may be messing with Rockets because of how they played us, I'm going to wait until 11:59 to see how I feel

This is over but without Lin I feel like we have a team full of Jerks and *ssholes. Only winning can make me feel better.

Nah he's CAA's mouthpiece. They have a mutual exclusivity deal with ESPN, too. A quid pro quo. SAS does their "bidding" on the network.

Lin spurned CAA's advances, who are the agency of choice at MSG (Dolan has a contract with them, too--for concerts, etc at the Garden), and he's paying for it. Lin tried to be his own man, not one of Dolan's shills, and, as we know, the boss don't like that. Combine that with the "double-back" to Morey for a bigger deal, and it was too much to overcome.

Also our FO clearly doesn't buy Linsanity; that certainly didn't help at all. On a subconscious level it was completely personal, on a conscious level it was a basketball decision, from a PR standpoint it was "about the money" (which clearly was never ever an obstacle EVER for the Knicks, and we had a ton of ways around the tax hit).

Dolan has the audacity to field garbage teams in the 2000s and pay luxury tax through his nose, but when we have a shot at being contenders he complains about money now

this is a complete joke.

Say what you will, but Jeremy Lin was the best PG on our team, Kidd/Felton or not.

Amazing how the whole roster and front office becomes a disgrace without Lin on it.. Funny how that works.

**** off then, do something about it and follow another organisation then instead of whinging and whinging about this 'joke' one. Ain't gonna change anything.

Talk about a letdown.

It's not the end of the world but my excitement for this team has greatly diminished. I will still be a fan but...I need a minute...

This is like when they moved the dodgers out of brooklyn. It's that bad. The owner just sh** all over the fans. How ironic it happens right before the Nets move to Brooklyn. This is some awfully bad karma....

Anyone else want out...please do quickly...instead of cluttering this board with "were doomed" threads, I'm sure the Rockets board will appreciate more "hooray" threads. Please, for all the "I'm done" guys...get done...get out.
