I think you guys are giving JR too much credit.

If you're trying to orchestrate a charade, involving JR Smith is not a wise decision.

Yea that guy who had the highest Usage Rate in the league during his "Linsanity" run is so unselfish. Hilarious. well he was really unselfish towards the opposing team, allowing them to take the ball from him so easily.

Dolan is just another rich kid with self-esteem issues that uses his money to buy friends. That's really all it boils down to. He let Isiah RUN THE FRANCHISE INTO THE GROUND because they were "friends". Lin didn't want to be his friend and now he's willing to run the franchise into the ground AGAIN.

it really is bizarre behavior. what an organization.

unite for what. This team doesn't have heart, chemistry, selflishness.. THis is a dysfunctional team.
Last year said it all about the Knicks, until Jeremy Lin saved their season.

I'd feel better about losing Lin if JR "Dumbest player in the NHL" Smith went with him.

your roster is comprised of:

1. a 40 year old woman abusing drunk driving pg
2. a thug from jersey that douses women with water in clubs, gets into "incidents" there and is suspended by the team
3. a pf that talks all day long and goes missing in the playoffs b/c of a dunk in practice and a fight with a fire extinguisher
4. a $20+ mil franchise SF that had the knicks gut their entire team so he can get his moneys

outside of shumpert, every single knick player is on the decline. melo is in his prime.

multiple year contracts to 40 year olds.

as a fan...i mean a real fan, what exactly has kept you watching this team?

my goodness man...the guy that paid luxury for jerome james + steve francis decides now is the time to stop?

melo forced the knicks to gut their roster so he could get his money? or was it so he could be a knick and get his money? i could have sworn there were several other teams that wanted to trade for him, but he would only sign the extension with the knicks. the denver gm wanted to get the most he could get so he played chicken with melo and the knicks. eventually melo was willing to go to the nets if the knicks deal couldn't get done. how is melo to blame for the denver gm doing a good job? i respect melo for what he did much more than a guy simply leaving in free agency, which leaves his team with nothing.

The Asik, Lin contracts will not impact talks with Magic, per source. Talks on trade for Dwight Howard have taken those deals into account.

rockets can burn in hell I hope they lose out on dwight and spend the next 20yrs in the lottery

For what? they didn't do anything.. they just saw a player they let go and regretted letting go and wanted to get him back.

Lin brought us back to life last year, it was breathtaking. However, it was such a small sample size, and the risk/reward on the Rockets deal for us to match was probably stacked further in the risk scenario. I understand why Dolan let him walk, i get it, but part of me also is mad as hell.

I don't think we will get a true reflection on the risk/reward until year 3 of this deal, and thats what the discussion over matching would have been.

Sad day either way.

Lin is a better PG than Felton
Lin is a better PG than Kidd

we're all in, and he inspired us to the playoffs last year.

Amare/Melo together have a horrific record, whose going to inspire them to win games again next year? Neither of these guys are leaders who transcend their play to make themselves and others around them better.

Who is going to carry this team to 60 wins?

WHo is going to get us out of the first round in the playoffs?

Have any of you not seen Melo/AMare play enough together already?

Melo's definitely on the decline. His athleticism and lift isn't what it was two years ago. Still has all-NBA talent, but I think we have seen the best he has already (08/09).
