He wasn't soley responsible. His friend was at fault too.

Who turned the key?????

His friend was drunk too. It could have easily been his friend driving and killing JR. They both were drunk. His friend knew and got in the car with him. When you get in a car with a drunk driver, what do you think is going to happen?? His friend is at fault too.

JR didn't make him get in the car. He knew JR was drunk.

Off the air now. Reports by @HowardBeckNYT and @KBergCBS say #Knicks will not match Lin sheet. Knicks have not given official word.

I like your perspective.

Still a little shocked, but I'll get over it. Ready to go to war.

His friend didn't just die. JR is the reason he died.

There had to be more to it then that. Lin brought in a ton of dough.

If the Knicks wanted to keep Lin and were not prepared for the poison pill after adding a ton of salary that might even be worse. More proof of being incompetent!

In 2015 we will still regret this when Felton is too overweight to play and Kidd and Camby are done.

This franchise is just dumb!!!

Wait

Wait wait wait wait...

Are you implying that his friend was somehow also to blame for dying?

Absolutely. Would you ever get in the car with a drunk driver? No? Why not?

Right.

not matching makes zero basketball sense. if dolan is pissed at him match it and have him ride the bench and then trade him when it's allowed. he's still at 5 mil for 2 years. let's say a year and a half from now knicks move stat and lin for a prospect and an expiring and/or picks. there is no reason other than dolan thinking "he'll suck in houston and regret trying to screw me... muahahaha" which like i said, isn't a smart bball decision.

him and his friend were drunk and both made a terrible mistake.

JR is a great guy that made a mistake. His loyalty to the Knicks shows whats in his heart

A great guy lmao. Is this real life?

The dude who was throwing up gang signs two years ago? The guy who constantly skipped his Chinese team's practice? What in the world would make you think he's a great guy? lol

Cuban acknowledge that was the biggest mistake he ever made. Bad example.

I don't really care what Cuban feels, they have a championship without Steve Nash.

The championship is the only thing I care about, and that's where the point is made.

You act like JR wanted his friend to die. You're a clown bro. I don't give a F about JR's personal life, I know he wants to be a knick and bleeds orange and blue that's good enough for me. Meanwhile your boy lin been putting up a front this whole time....as a matter of fact not really, because ever since his "injury" he's been distant as hell. That's your hero? Really? You should go ahead and commit that.

Bottomline Lin made a business decision when he signed that restructured contract. The Knicks made a business decision to not match that restructured contract...

Plain & Simple "It's all about Business"

What part of this don't people understand...

How much more will you be upset when 2015 woulda rolled around and we'd be giving Lin 15, Chandler 15, Melo 20, Amare 20. Bye Shump, bye Novak, etc etc.

Given JR's, Melo's and Felton's comments over the past few days I think it's pretty obvious this decision was made a while ago.

They waited until the last day just to put Houston on ice. Which even that doesn't make any sense because what does that accomplish if you are not going to match?

Dolan puts the "I" in idiot.
Play time is over.

Right.

But weren't they both drunk? Are you 100% rational when you're wasted?

For the record I'm not hating on JR and I never did even through this mess, but implying that a victim of someone's drunk driving was also partially responsible for his death is like....well no, I actually am not sure how to describe that.
