I'm just hoping the Knicks make an official announcement soon, so the people still holding out could accept it and move on.

We gave up 3 second round pick-equivalents too. I think we gave up like 7 second-round picks this offseason, to along with Lin, Fields, Harrelson, and Jeffries.
Who cares?

hell no. i'd trade lin, shump and all future future draft picks as well as 3mil in cash considerations each and every year to keep dantoni away.

You make little sense to me. WHY would ANYONE blame Lin for the Knicks not matching???
And the only thing we'll hear from the team officials is 'spin'.
so you'd rather hear from the beat writers and not from the team officials themselves?
No, just saying it won't clarify anything.

Does it matter? Dolan paid Fat Eddy for 5 years. He can pay for Lin.
Eddy became a bust and he dragged us with him cuz the contract was untradeable.
You cant use your logic.
We did give him up for nothing. But there is a danger that we get stuck.

Melo, JR and Andray? Why stop there - where is Gilbert at?
Crittenton, too. We need a SG, right?
Instead of Mobb Deep we can be Boyz in the Hood.
Play time is over.

Re: BREAKING: Report - Knicks Won't Match, Lin to Rockets
My dad bought up some good points about why the Knicks might not find letting Lin go. It swayed me towards being stuck in the middle on this decision. I'm going to paraphrase the discussion of each point.
1. Jeremy Lin said he was 80% during the playoffs and didn't play. What would it take Tyson Chandler to sit out a playoff game? Amare wasn't 100%, Baron Davis never seemed 80%. Most people suspect that Lin didn't play so that he wouldn't mess up his contract negotiations. I don't blame him but I am upset he didn't give at least 15 minutes a game..especially after Baron Davis went down.
2. The Knicks doctor's operated on his knee. They could know something we don't know. I thought this point was interesting. Would the rest of the league have access to the doctor's report? I wasn't sure. It is true that Mike- I'm a horrible coach- D'antoni rode him "like the secretariat" therefore overplaying him. Under Woodson the Knicks know Lin won't be as fatigued so why isn't the most popular player in the NBA worth the contract? He has bad knees.
4. The most important factor. James Dolan is an idiot. The Knicks are happy to match at 4 years 25 million, 19 million guaranteed. Houston hears this and re-negotiates the poison pill into the contract. Dolan gets pissy about it and turns into the stubborn loser he is. This fuels himself to justify that Raymond Felton is a good alternative. Felton looked impressive under Mike D'antoni, too. If he gets himself in shape he can provide the 14 points and 5 assist that his team needs to become a 5th or higher seed.
Houston's owner has business connections with China from the Yao days. Jeremy Lin means more to Houston than he does to the Knicks.
