Im all in with bringing Lin back and Im black. What I hear from other black people is like what Mayweather said. If he was black it wouldnt be a story, which has some truth to it. Honestly, we dont see a lot of Asian Guards excelling in NBA. Most Asian players are bigs and its a rarity to see an Asian guard play at that level in NBA.

It would be the same hype if the was a dominant black HOCKEY player. Or a WHITE sumo wrestler. Just the way it is.

I believe that if Lin had been african american, all other things being equal, he would have been matched

He just doesn't fit the profile of what we think of as a great basketball player

These things take time

It's unfortunate

This is anecdotal, I don't have a link. But how does that help? Honestly. I could pull some crap right now out of the internet.

But anyway back to what I was gonna say, this is based on my personal experiences. A lot of Black people are dismissive.

I think people wouldn't have been as upset if we had gotten something for him. Yeah, if we had traded him for something, wouldn't be as mad. But we didn't trade him for anything. We just let him walk.

Knicks could have re-signed Lin and traded him later...

you also have to consider the marketing potential lin would have missed out on if he was a black dude. if lin didn't have the global appeal that he has and his offer wouldn't have been quite as high as it was which would soften up the luxury tax hit.

now if you don't believe the tax excuse knicks brass put out there and if it really was just a grudge dolan held against him than race makes no difference.

it's true that dolan's decision is more like a jealous baby than anything else

I guess it just seems the doubt of his ability is tied, in part, to not fitting the profile

we will see what he becomes over the years

As are a lot of people from all races, why are you singling out african americans?… Saying you wouldn’t touch a topic with a 10 ft pole and then diving in head first are not the same thing btw...

It's funny because Lin stated his most inspirational person is Martin Luther King Jr., his favorite music is hiphop and his favorite actor is Denzel Washington. He may look Asian American but if I didn't know who was answering those questions I would have thought it was a black guy.

I'm Black, White and Asian. How many votes do I get?

Also: I guess there's no Latinos where you're from.

It's just a simple poll. The fans are participating in it and the view count suggests that others are also interested in how the most diverse city in the North America is handling the news. It's certainly not a troll posting, Moocow007. Not sure what the problem is.

Your poll has an obvious agenda. The way the choices were phrased it's pretty obvious what you wanted to skew the answers to be. Being pissed is an extreme emotion. Being fine is a more common emotion. One player bringing a championship is an extreme unlikelihood. Equating Lin with a championship is a bit of a stretch. This is obviously a troll poll.

A poll without an agenda would probably have the choices which would just say A) I'm not pleased with Lin being let go B) I'm pleased Lin is being let go.
