The sad thing is two of those things are actually somewhat true.

Oh yeah, he's still in the fold, he's rehabbing and helping Shumpert through rehab.

Appleshampoo wrote:My dad bought up some good points about why the Knicks might not find letting Lin go. It swayed me towards being stuck in the middle on this decision. I'm going to paraphrase the discussion of each point.

1. Jeremy Lin said he was 80% during the playoffs and didn't play. What would it take Tyson Chandler to sit out a playoff game? Amare wasn't 100%, Baron Davis never seemed 80%. Most people suspect that Lin didn't play so that he wouldn't mess up his contract negotiations. I don't blame him but I am upset he didn't give at least 15 minutes a game..especially after Baron Davis went down.

2. The Knicks doctor's operated on his knee. They could know something we don't know. I thought this point was interesting. Would the rest of the league have access to the doctor's report? I wasn't sure. It is true that Mike- I'm a horrible coach- D'antoni rode him "like the secretariat" therefore overplaying him. Under Woodson the Knicks know Lin won't be as fatigued so why isn't the most popular player in the NBA worth the contract? He has bad knees.

4. The most important factor. James Dolan is an idiot. The Knicks are happy to match at 4 years 25 million, 19 million guaranteed. Houston hears this and re-negotiates the poison pill into the contract. Dolan gets pissy about it and turns into the stubborn loser he is. This fuels himself to justify that Raymond Felton is a good alternative. Felton looked impressive under Mike D'antoni, too. If he gets himself in shape he can provide the 14 points and 5 assist that his team needs to become a 5th or higher seed.

Houston's owner has business connections with China from the Yao days. Jeremy Lin means more to Houston than he does to the Knicks.

1) ridiculous argument. Probably meant 85% from being able to play, not 85% from his perfect health. Besides is there some chart that tells me when I can jump this high or push off that hard or have that much soreness in the knee I'm at this percentage? No, he threw out a number to appease the reporter. He said he couldn't go and you have to accept that. Everything else is BULLSH*T

2) doubt it, but possible.

3) -blank-?

4) agree Dolan = idiot, not the rest because of how NBA contracts are. There was no re-negotiating a poison pill in....

no #) disagree. We need Lin more because we are in a 2-3 window for a run at a title. We need all hands on deck, including a young and improving PG. Remember we gained ZERO flexibility by not matching and in fact have one less asset to trade if any opportunity does come up.

blackbishop wrote:wow so now lin is the end all and be all of the knicks franchise cause he played well in like 10 games.

10 games and he owns NY.

Carmelo goes nut for 30 ppg 7rebs 4 ass a game at 50% shooting to carry us into the playoffs, but he is a douche and sux.

Chandler is DPOY and he sux

Amare closes out the year beginning in march giving up shots, being a team player and going 17ppg 8 boards a block on 56% FG shooting and he still sux

Novak was just as important as lin shooting 47% from 3 and he still sux cause he signed for 4 mil a year

Shump was just as important cause Lin couldnt guard a cold. Calderon and other PGs went right back at him, if it wasnt for shump guarding the best opposing guard, there would be no linsanity but he sux.

We upgrade from davis/bibby to felton/kidd and we still suck

pablo priogioni is supposedly one of the best in europe and after watching that huertas dude eat the USA team alive, if pablo is even half as good as he was, i would be happy.

camby averages a ton of rebounds per minute and still can control the paint but hey without lin he sux.

I just do not understand.

Was lin really that amazing in people's minds?

I wish him luck in houston. He wanted more money and he can be with his BFF Yao. he will have the run of a PnR exclusive team with some nice young pieces in lamb and donie motie dude. maybe they get d12 too.

But im a knick fan not a jeremy lin fan.

I think we improved from the team that ended the season 12-5 and hope that this upcoming year with a higher seed we can make some noise in the playoffs.

Yeah, I mean Dolan is part of the team so if you're rooting for him to look stupid you must not be a true fan, right?

Knicks went from a relatively young team to one of the oldest teams in the league.

Shump won't get traded. He's great fd of Melo. They didn't even want to include him for Nash.

It amazes me how DocZaius has skillfully mastered the art of avoiding a suspension

Is Howard Beck a legit source? Just asking because he seems very confident Lin is gone.
