Yes. Howard Beck is one of the reliable reporters. He's not Frank Isola or Marc Berman.

He's not a Knicks beat writer anymore, but yes, he is very credible.

Oh yeah, he's still in the fold, he's rehabbing and helping Shumpert through rehab.

You know who JR Smith is? He's like the court jester cackling at all the kings jokes and shuking and playing the fool, all the while knowing he's maneuvering craftily. He's smart like a fox. He knows Dolan loves "loyalty" so he's kissing up bigtime w/ the paycut, hanging out, being the 'company man'. He'll have a knicks jobs for life, Dolan's such a moron.

Yeah, I mean Dolan is part of the team so if you're rooting for him to look stupid you must not be a true fan, right?

I want Lin to succeed just so Dolan knows he makes mistakes, and maybe sallow pride.

Crazy part is if Dolan is really pissed, the cold-blooded thing to do is match, throw Lin in as part of the guard rotation, wait until the trade deadline, then send him to a team that needs Lin for marketing. Just because the Knicks don't need to make roster decisions for marketing and selling out games, that doesn't mean other teams have the same advantage.

We easily could have ended up with at least one high-first from Toronto or Golden State.

Such a dumb, short-sighted, shoot yourself in the foot decision

I know this sounds really stupid and I'm sure has been brought up 100 times, but if Houston wants Lin so bad, then at least you match, he plays for 2 years at 5 mil, and then if he does well, trade him to Houston

F**k it as much as I loved Lin he is the enemy now and I hope Tyson and Camby pound him when we play the Rockets, but he will most likely drop 40 on the combination of felton and kidd.

I dont get this Knicks fan vs Lin fan thing.

I'm a Knicks fan that is why I'm pissed we let Lin go for nothing.

If I was a Lin fan I would be celebrating that he is not playing for this toxic franchise anymore.

Isiah Thomas is back.

This has 100% confirmed it. Isiah runs the show through his BFF Grunwald and Woodson.

New York Times is legit.

This is the thing about Lin going to Houston. I'm not going to say it will result in wins, but he is going to put up big numbers, and the Knicks are going to get huge backlash for this if it doesn't work out on this side. Not saying Lin would continue his success here, but in Houston? In that system, with their lack of options, and the keys to the franchise? You better believe he is good for at least 18 and 7...

My question is why would get the story before anyone else? Seems strange.

Not really all that upset that we won't match.
Lin is a nice point guard, but I don't see anything special about him. I do have my doubts that his body can maintain an 82 game schedule. I won't root for him to fail and I do think it's foolish that we won't match due to money but it is what it is.

Houston is not a playoff team. So Lin doesn't have to be worrying about sitting out this year.
