He's not a Knicks beat writer anymore, but yes, he is very credible.

Thanks. Its hard to know who is credible anymore.

I'm not saying he is right on this by any stretch, but he is credible.

You can read his work and feel he has true insider insight into it.

New York Times is legit.

This is the thing about Lin going to Houston. I'm not going to say it will result in wins, but he is going to put up big numbers, and the Knicks are going to get huge backlash for this if it doesn't work out on this side. Not saying Lin would continue his success here, but in Houston? In that system, with their lack of options, and the keys to the franchise? You better believe he is good for at least 18 and 7...

If Lin only puts up 18 and 7, then the Knicks will be smart for not matching.

ONLY 18 and 7? Are you serious?

Just saying.. Maybe if LIN REALLY WANTS TO BE A KNICK.. He should pick up a phone and call Dolan and tell him he really wants to be.

He's a key piece of this team, and he has a high enough ceiling that he can be a difference-maker for us. Felton and 40-year-old Kidd do not.

10 games and he owns NY.

He is, in fact, the best thing to happen to the Knicks since they made the finals in '99. So yes, he does sort of "own NY" for many Knicks fans.

Carmelo goes nut for 30 ppg 7rebs 4 ass a game at 50% shooting to carry us into the playoffs, but he is a douche and sux.

Carmelo does not "suck." But he did have a bad year, underperformed his contract, and is one of the biggest reasons why we got in such a hole in the first half of the year.

Chandler is DPOY and he sux

I don't think anyone claims Chandler sucks.

Amare closes out the year beginning in march giving up shots, being a team player and going 17ppg 8 boards a block on 56% FG shooting and he still sux

You can't be defending Amar'e performance last year. I mean...for real?

Novak was just as important as lin shooting 47% from 3 and he still sux cause he signed for 4 mil a year

Novak was great...and it's still a damn shame that we're shelling out big $ for him and letting Lin walk. It doesn't have to be a choice between them though...we should have both.

Shump was just as important cause Lin couldnt guard a cold. Calderon and other PGs went right back at him, if it wasnt for shump guarding the best opposing guard, there would be no linsanity but he sux.

Shumpert was good, but please...don't tell me he was "just as important as Lin." That's ridiculous.

We upgrade from davis/bibby to felton/kidd and we still suck

Uh no...we downgraded from Lin/whoever to Felton/Kidd.

pablo priogioni is supposedly one of the best in europe and after watching that huertas dude eat the USA team alive, if pablo is even half as good as he was, i would be happy.

Pablo Priogioni, a 35-year-old rookie...great point there.

camby averages a ton of rebounds per minute and still can control the paint but hey without lin he sux.

Getting a good backup center doesn't mitigate the loss of your starting point guard.

I just do not understand.

Was lin really that amazing in people's minds?

Lin was amazing. Not in "people's minds." On the basketball court.

I wish him luck in houston. He wanted more money and he can be with his BFF Yao. he will have the run of a PnR exclusive team with some nice young pieces in lamb and donie motie dude. maybe they get d12 too.

But im a knick fan not a jeremy lin fan.

When the Knicks make self-destructive, senseless decisions...most Knicks fans are upset about it.

I think we improved from the team that ended the season 12-5 and hope that this upcoming year with a higher seed we can make some noise in the playoffs.

There is not a shred of an argument to be made that this is an improved roster. We added some severely aging backups. We lost a 23-year-old point guard who was...yes, amazing, last year.

I called everything that has happened regarding Lin except for Mike Bibby being the PG. Close enough I guess.

Definitely worthy of a suspension IMO.

Good luck when ball sharing is less "contagious" with FFF (Fat F*ck Felton) and JR will shoot more than pass to Novak than he used too. It'll be contagious. You'll swear we turned over the entire team, you never saw so many times a player bringing it up and hoisting away. Melo, Smith and FFF - bombs away squad.
45 win team.

WTF, Novak was even better once Lin went down, what are you talking about. He even shoot a bit better as he went from 46% under linsanity to 47% under woodsanity.

If we had a PG in the playoffs then we might have been able to get him some open looks without him being guarded by lebron and wade. Note he was so dangerous to the heat they put their best players on him.

Kidd/felton will make him better, shoot if he gets all the 3 pters fields was gettin we goood.

I dont know how many games the knicks will win but I will be hoping they win every one and not wish any of them to suck just cause jeremy lin is not there. They didnt make Lin renegotiate for more money nor did they make him sign the renegotiated contract that he knew would cost the knicks a ton of money.

And ya know what if it doesnt work in three years, the knicks can start over.

I mean how do you sign with a team that cut you. That felt Johnny flynn was better than you. but lin got what he wanted, everyone wins.

SAS has actually been saying the exact thing Beck is saying for the last couple days: management has decided against matching Lin, ultimately up to Dolan.

Houston has a better squad than what Lin had to work with during Linsanity.

18 and 7 is honest;y not great with a wide open green light.

I've had that same thought as well. It seems obvious to me that Lin did not want to be a Knick. Felton loves NY and was heartbroken when the Knicks traded him in that Melo trade but he's back now and i'll be rooting for him.

JimmyDolan wrote:"I think the kid was the great. The system helped him be really great," Brown said of Lin. "It's a wonderful story. But I look at him as a terrific backup in the NBA. I may be wrong, I really want him to be successful but I think if you overpay him for the interest that he created that's not the best thing.

"I think you overpay him if you think he's going to make you better, going to make Stoudemire better, going to make Carmelo better, going to make Tyson better….then pay him as much as you can."

System player.

See ya Jeremy.

Nobody knows for sure. That is why you match. Knicks need a lot of luck to catch up to Miami. Hoping Felton shows up into camp in shape wont be enough. Lin could have been our lotto ticket.

Huge failure

Same here. Good kid, but he's no longer a Knick.

Rather him succeed, maybe just maybe might cause Dolan to think,

"Hey, maybe I pay the front office to make the decisions for me since they know more about basketball. I should let them do their job."

I don't, not one bit. I said it's foolish if we let him go because of money though, especially if there is where he draws the line in the sand. Don't match because you don't think he's worth it. Don't match it because you don't think he really isn't that good. Don't tell us it's the money if your really just acting like a scorned woman. I'm ok if at the end of the day Lin doesn't want to be here, but we've seen this guy run players out of town before.

Lin is a nice point guard, but I don't see anything special about him. I do have my doubts that his body can maintain an 82 game schedule. I won't root for him to fail and I do think it's foolish that we won't match due to money but it is what it is.

It's not your money. Knicks are capped out, so it makes no difference to the Knicks as a team.

Why do you care about Dolan's money?

Why do you?
