There's plenty of interest in Lin around the league.

We couldn't match the contract then flip it for a crappy expiring contract and a first round pick if not more???

Unfortunately once he signed that offer sheet he could no longer be used in a S&T

Right but after the waiting period we could, right? Something like December 15th or 3 months after the sign I forget which.

Some of you guys are so damn stupid. No Lin by himself is not going to lead us to a championship. BUT SINCE CARMELO ANTHONY IS NOT A SUPERSTAR! WE NEED TO SURROUND HIM WITH ENOUGH NBA CALIBER PLAYERS!!!

He's not lebron and he's not Kobe, the more good players you surround him with the better chance we have in competing ...

I don't understand why people can't understand that?

Lin wasn't average last year. He played at an all-star level.

For how many games again? During the peak of Linsanity he got shut down by Miami. I've never seen a PG so turnover prone.. Felton if he gets in shape is a better distributor and a better defender..

doesnt mean they were worthy. he gets a lot of slack because he doesnt side with the homer crew and fan boys. he actually gives an honest opinion on what he perceives to be the truth..

Exactly. If speaks about Amar'e like he does with Melo. I doubt he gets as much suspensions.

How can you label Felton as a knucklehead? And use Marbury in the same sentence?

Shyt on Hump but he averaged a double double.

With a "green light" to rebound next to Brook Lopez. Be consistent man. Humphries is a solid player, but barely getting a double double gets you 14 million a year in this league, thats my point. So how is 18 and 7 on 8 million a year a trash deal?

He's done it for the last two years.

nothing if he reverts back to the scrub who got waived by 2 teams and went undrafted.

and that should happen because hes not a knick anymore right ?

It is probably the particular player he trolls the most that gets on people's nerves.

Because a lot of people here troll the ownership and Amar'e, and majority seem fine with it.

I really don't want to keep this convo going, but trust me...it's not only the stuff about Melo. He constantly trolls the board.

Agreed. I don't mind that he speaks his mind, that's encouraged. However, it has to be done in a constructive way. Some of his posts are all about omg, we suck, worst organization ever or whatever. That's adding nothing to the conversation and looking for a reaction from other posters.

To all posters,

Something else I wanted to add. I understand the emotions behind the move for many posters so, personally, I am going to be lenient tonight/tomorrow morning but, after that, time to move on. I am not happy with the decision either but such is life. And, if you decide, you can't follow this team anymore, you have the right to make such a decision but I am pretty sure noone here cares so just feel free to stop posting here and you will be achieving your goal of not following this team anymore.

18/7 is bad if he shoots 38%. If it's 18/7 on 48% shooting and less than 3 turnovers a game. That's an all-star easily if the team has a decent record.

Nice to take my post away from the topic.

!8/7 on a team where Lin would be the go-to guy is not that good.

His Rockets team has more pieces than what Lin had during Linsanity, unless linsanity was a fluke.

Same here. Good kid, but he's no longer a Knick.

Rather him succeed, maybe just maybe might cause Dolan to think,

"Hey, maybe I pay the front office to make the decisions for me since they know more about basketball. I should let them do their job."

Nope, we've seen time and again that Dolan will trump his own FO and make the worst possible decisions.

That's why you think some of us who are mad are "Lin Fanboys" Yeah, sure, I was a Knick fan before some of your FATHER's were jacking off. I'm mad because it proves again how stupid the team is and is in FULL revert after Walsh is gone, not that he was great. Dolan stepped in and f*d up the Melo trade, which was ok, as it nettted the best overall player, but now his hands (or Isiah's) are all over sucking up to Woodson's desire of "vet team" (old) and then his ego got involved and he sent a promising young PG packing for NOTHING. It's not Lin for me, it's the last straw. I'm going to vent here for a few days, maybe get myself banned, then become a basketball agnostic at best. Probably quit the sport. Who wants to follow as Miami and Lakers win the next 6 chips anyway? Or maybe OKC gets one. No one else is...

And I have never seen a "suspended" near Doc's name tbh.

When your "truths" are stupid ignorant and inflammatory it absolutely warrants a suspension.

+1. The man's an idiot. He went from labeling Lin a scrub, to being the worst kind of fanboy troll.

I think you are exaggerating. Chalmers shut him down.

I'm not exaggerating in the slightest. 20/8 per 36.

And I hope you're not one of the people who was saying the sample size is too small to give him a contract, given the "Chalmers shut him down" statement. Which isn't even true, that it was Chalmers. He was running into Lebron James every 10 seconds...you know, the 260 pound guy that's quick enough to chase point guards around.

to be fair that game was much like game 1 of the playoffs... miami was allowed to maul our guys without getting called for fouls. i remember one replay showed chalmers clearly grabbing lin's wrist which caused a turnover, and reggie miller being the hater he is propped up chalmers for making a good play while ignoring it was clearly a foul.

Man reading this board you would have thought we lost CP3, Prime Nash or even 40 year old Nash, Rose, Rondo or any elite PG. The fact is we had a guy play 1/3 of a season and blow out his knee. He played really well for most of the 1/3rd of the season but again it was his first season with real playing time and it ended with an injury. Hard to really judge him going forward so I do not mind that the Knicks decided to pass from a basketball stand point. Getting Felton will provide a decent replacement. Do I think he is as good as Lin? Nope but I also do not think it is as much of a downgrade as people are making it out to be.....

Sure Felton is a major risk because he can get FAT at any time....
But Lin is also a risk seeing how he never completed a full season yet....
