With all that young talent Houston has you could have got a nice piece. They just picked up the draft pick from Toronto for Lowry maybe they would have offered that up. for Lin.

they wouldn't make nearly as much money though in a sign and trade. so they wouldn't do it.

Nice to take my post away from the topic.

!8/7 on a team where Lin would be the go-to guy is not that good.

His Rockets team has more pieces than what Lin had during Linsanity, unless linsanity was a fluke.

That's similar numbers to a lot of top 5 PG's who are the go-to guy though. If he gets that at Hou, it will definitely be a bad decision to have let him go.

But didn't you know? The only reason to keep lin is if he's gonna be a SUPERSTAR and put up 30,15 and 5 for a 3 year $25 mill contract. He's not allowed to do less with a contract that pays him in three years what max players will almost get in one year.

Just like Deron, and mind you i don't like him, still managed to get double digit assists from that squad.

You're missing my point on Lin.

Everyone just about on this board would have been content if Lin got 14/6 with our squad, fully knowing he'd be the third option on offense, and the ball will not always be in his hands.

In houston his usage rate would be off the charts......18 and 7 is not that good on that team.

Why are you belaboring this? The point was that 3 years/$25 million is not a "great player" contract, so if Lin turns out to not be a great player, that doesn't mean he's overpaid. Humphries is not a "great player" and he's making $14 million per. Nothing to debate here.

Dude you cant like Lin unless you're going to slobber all over his nuts, you should know that.

Paco liked Lin like CoolKids liked Lin. You guys tolerated him but saw more hole than others. CoolKids preferred TD, so we know how those opinion go. I'm not calling Paco a Lin hater, but you did not like Lin as much as Dr.Z and that is why you think his pro Lin post were trolling, while other who post anti-Lin stuff was not always as offensive to you as those who like Lin more. Simple as that.

BTW, see how these people who 'like Lin' always go back to these stupid 'Lin fanboy' type comment. It seems if you appreciate Lin and his game at all, it means you wanna slobber his knob, think he's gonna be better than CP3 and can beat Melo with one leg tied to Lala's tits.

I just was not obsessed -- I didn't think he was a superstar (or someone we could rebuild a team around). The entire time, I have maintained him being a Mike Conley/Kyle Lowry type player. I wrote a huge blog post on him and gave him the highest grade on the team (tied with Melo and Tyson).

I know all the rumors are out that Lin is gone, but is there ANY chance that something might happen before midnight? I mean, the Knicks haven't said anything official yet, right?

Where was this reaction when he lost out on Nash? That was a gamechanger. That was a move that would have made the team a title contender. Lin isn't. Lin may be better than Felton, but he's not the difference in beating Miami or Boston. It'll be the same result.

We should bring marbury, curry and crawford back they'd fit right in.

He's not lebron and he's not Kobe, the more good players you surround him with the better chance we have in competing ...

I don't understand why people can't understand that?

BINGO.

But we need good players that mesh with him. Melo needs a pass first, spot up shooting PG. Neither Felton or Lin are that. Felton to me is a backup. Lin needs the ball and is more of a scorer. Melo is a ball stopper. Surround Melo with shooters.

We went 7-1 with a healthy lineup. The offense was meshing.

Lowest career playoff win %.

Not jabs, people stating facts. Stop pretending Melo is some perfect player and act like he doesn't need the most talent possible around him to win. He's not Lebron james where you can stick 4 scrubs on his team make the finals.

... in the east... and get swept when you face the caliber of team melo's nuggets have been playing each and every year... just stating facts... now i'll ask a question... do those cavs teams even make the playoffs in the west? if so do they make it out of the first round? what would lebron's playoff win % look like if he were in the west.... i guess we'll never know.

I'm just pointing out how wrong you are. 18/7 without context and just flat out saying it's not that good is just silly. Doesn't matter what pieces he has. If he puts up 18/7 on 48% shooting and 1.5 steals a game and limit the turnovers while playing on a decent above .500 team. That's an All-Star.

Hey, I want my PG to be a workhorse, not eat the horse.

Can't you say the same thing about Lin??

Also Lin is a workhorse? He played 25 games and blew out a knee.

He went from 0 minutes to 45 minutes a night. We were saying in the first week that he was going to get run into the ground. You can't do that to any player and expect their health to hold up.

I remember back when Gortat was signed to a full MLE by the Mavericks, the Magic sort of matched towards the end. Gortat was very pissed

It would be the most awkward locker room after Smith's tweets.
