lol Dwight is a clown. The Magic don't need to do anything to make him look bad, he does it on his own.

It's all good man, lots of us getting caught in the emotional collateral damage caused by these events. I might change my avi and sig to see if responses I get are different. Social experiment

mattyBoi wrote:My thing with Dwight is the Magic did put a great team around him, a way better team than Lebron ever had in Cleveland. They improved every year he was on the team until the finals and the year after that team was a beast and ran into a terrible matchup against the celtics. He had ONE bad season (first round playoff loss) before he started this whining which is unbelievable. Think about the great players in the league and what they've been through the streaks of losing many have put up with and Dwight does it after one year.

Players like Dirk, Kobe, Nash, Duncan have stuck it out through some rough stretches, much respect to them.

dwight only had a good supporting cast imo in 2009/2008.

part of that rise was also his development as a player. He's endured two straight years of horrible casts where his 2nd best player is jameer nelson.

Maybe because all those players you mentioned are impatient and somehow think they're entitled to make decisions about the team instead of just playing basketball

The Lakers didn't trade Kobe when he asked to be traded. Orlando traded TMac because they wanted to. Penny as well. And Howard obviously wasn't that intent on leaving, he opted in.

Shaq's the only 1 who left.

Orlando traded Penny because his knees were shot and Phoenix actually traded for him.

Bad luck, bad timing, bad decision making, bad front-office, and I'm sure it doesn't help that Disney World is the obesity capital of the world. I haven't seen that many whales ridding around on hover-rounds since ending up in AC when it happened to be an AARP weekend.

Who knows, no Drexler on Houston, maybe they don't get swept by Hakeem, maybe they win the NBA Finals, perhaps that sets up a dynasty for the next decade of guaranteed ECF appearances (obviously they still los to Jordan Bulls), but they are easy championships once Jordan retired. Penny could have replicated the little Kobe did in the first 2 LAL championship years.

The Dwight one is the only one that is 100% the Magic's fault. With T-Mac and Shaq both sides share the blame. Dwight just wants a good team, and I don't care what excuse you make there is no excuse for Rashard Lewis being the best player Dwight ever played with.

T-Mac at least had Mike Miller who in his first few years looked like a future all-star, things just didn't work out and IMO it is never a good idea to trade away a player when your franchise's superstar was the best man at his wedding. Shaq had Horace Grant and Penny. Dwight had Rashard Lewis, Jameer Nelson, and Turkoglu.

Four poor examples.

Shaq left EVERY team he played for on bad terms. He also left the Magic with nothing because the Lakers were more marketable.

Howard is a straight-up diva. HE created the bad terms, then urinated on those terms to make them worse.

Lack of competent management over the years. Which I hope has finally changed with the new regime.

The Magic in 8 years never put a good team around D12. That's on management. But, that's not to say D12 was never taken care of by Rich DeVos. Shaq was given more money in LA. T-Mac had a terrible relationship with a GM who used to be a hockey player (yes, a hockey player was our GM). Penny's knees were shot and PHX bit.

With that said, I'll always defend Orlando. It's a great city :) If you've only been to Disney, then you've never really been to Orlando. Great place to live.

I would argue that Orlando has had a very good history for only being around since 1989. There have been many great playoff runs, including 2 trips to the finals. We have no problem landing free agents and there are many players that still have a home in Orlando. There is a story behind each exit and it is unfair to put them all together.

Shaq- LA Lakers offered a contract that was way over what the Magic did.
Penny- Started to suffer injuries, Magic put him in a great situation next to Jason Kidd in PHX so they could rebuild.
TMAC- I would say Grant Hills ankle was the best and worst thing that happened to him in Orlando. He took the spotlight and became a houshold name but did not have the other star healthy for a playoff run. He later pushed the Magic to either take Okefor or trade the first pick. Once again Orlando sent him to a great situation in Houston.
Dwight- You can say his teams have been crap, but the francise has spent major money and made ballsy trades to try to build. Dwight also cares too much what others around him think and the people around him have transformed the humble kid that made no excuses to a finger pointing diva. Once again like they always do, the Magic will ship him to a favorable destination.

Yes great players have come and gone, but the Magic do treat thier players right and never screw them over when things go south. This is the reason Henny will have no problem spending his cap money when the team retools in a couple years.

shaq- left the magic, lakers, heat, suns, and cavs, maybe you blame him?

penny- was quickly breaking down, declined his last few years in orlando, the magic decided to trade him, he wasnt that star, they decided to get something for him before he was done

tmac- the magic went all in with tmac and grant hill (tried to get duncan), grant was injured the entire time, it killed orlando, the magic sucked and tmac didn't wanna rebuild, he became a punk

dwight- well hes just acting like a biyatch, ill give you dwight

yea not sure about this topic

Dwight is realizing the NBA is a business.
