Someone like me? And you are, what, exactly? You are a level headed dude who believes (Please Use More Appropriate Word) conspiracies over a simple offer sheet match/don't match concept? Yeah, you sure got a clear head on your shoulders and you've given me so much factual evidence to support your statements. Good stuff.

I don't care about Lin being squeaky clean. I live in reality and I'm talking to you about things that happened in reality, not a Berman hearsay article that nobody else reported. Take your BS to someone else, not me.

- You can hate on Berman all you want, he knows information you and I don't

- It really isn't some wild conspiracy. It's the way things work with Dolan and it makes perfect sense, if you know the type of guy he is and his history. Whether you agree with it or not, seems clear to me Dolan was rubbed the wrong way by the second deal emerging (see: Knicks openly accepting first one, not accepting second)...... One could only assume Lin or Lin's people are involved in that "rubbing Dolan the wrong way" - or else they would not have changed their position to match. It's really not that outlandish. You don't have to agree with it or like it, but it's likely the way it happened.

Ironically Berman tweeted what I just said as well.. If Rockets had offered Lin the final figures he signed, originally, the Knicks probably go about it a lot different....But bc it went down this way, Dolan had the chance to see/feel w/e something he didn't like about it all, and it lead to this. He's spiteful.

Some connecting of the dots involved sure.... But not that hard to see.

Why are you still in this topic?

Marc Berman isn't a source and anything you and [GR] say is based on Berman or Isola. Please stop. Berman actually knows less than you and I. He trolls message boards and includes ideas as a rumor. There is no question about that. He reports on obscure tweets from random twitter accounts. He scours the internet and the bottom of the barrel to have something to write about. This is why he writes for the New York Post and not the Times. This is why nobody else but him and his fellow awful writer Frank Isola (and to a lesser extent Stephen A) have reported this and nobody else has.

Until you find some credible source, like a Howard Back or Adrian Wojnarowski, goodbye.

That has nothing to do with it. Besides the fact that these guys got paid, they actually WANTED TO BE HERE and rep the knicks HARD. As a fan that's what I care about the most, because these dudes don't pay my bills. People drag Melo through the dirt for not wanting to risk losing millions, but when Lin does it it's a whole different story. F**k that.

Are you not understanding the words I'm typing? The Rockets wanted Lin. The Rockets wanted Lin. The Rockets wanted Lin. That's why they changed the offer. THEY changed the offer, NOT LIN. The Rockets changed the offer to Jeremy Lin because it gave them a greater chance of acquiring him. Jeremy Lin signed the contract the Rockets offered to him. Their final offer was a 3 year deal. End of story.

Teams do not change a verbal agreement, unless it's agreed upon. It's bad business; same way teams don't pull verbal offers when agreed. (Because we know Landry's would have been a prime example.) Lin renegotiated - he wanted to. Otherwise, he would be signing that 4 yr deal. Why do you think agreed to the new deal? Because it guaranteed more money. Lin got a little greedy, and it cost him.

I wonder how Kidd feels about all this. He came here to mentor Lin, unless that was just PR .

Kidd actually said he came here because of the talent the team had, and was willing to do whatever the coach wanted.

Any New Yorker will tell you that the NY Post is a less trustworthy source than a tabloid. The NY media is general spin stories like no other. I'm sure once it's official the stories will come out that Jeremy Lin was a devil worshipper that killed kittens for fun. We've already seen the stories come out in anticipation of him leaving.

Lin's agent "Jeremy the Rockets just called and said they will up the offer because they really want you to sign there"

Lin: "OK"

Yeah same thing about what would attract CP3 to the Knicks, I don't think it was Lin. It was basically because of all the teams that showed interest in Kidd, the Knicks had the best team.

Well said OP.

I am with several few who still think we'll match Lin. There are still 3 hrs to go. Dolan will troll Rockets and Lin by matching 1 minute before deadline.

If he has made a definite decision not to match, he would have told the Rockets/ publicly we're not matching. Instead, we only got reports saying we won't match. So, what's the hold up? Nothing is official.

Until then, I will keep my emotions inside.

Are you a troll, bro? Seriously. You just keep writing the same thing ad nauseum while ignoring everything said to you. What you're saying is based on absolutely nothing but your own opinion. That is not a fact.

The fact - the real fact - is that the Rockets re-negotiated their verbal agreement. It's not "bad business" because in this case it actually gave Lin more guaranteed money. How exactly would it be "bad business" to renegotiate a deal for a player to give him more money? It's certainly not "bad business" for Lin to make more money from the Rockets than originally thought.

Not only are you reaching so hard that your shoulder is about to be dislocated but you seem to be continuing to reach because turning back now and admitting your wrong would ruin any "e-cred" you've been trying to build here.

Yup, folks choose to hate their own team, but looking at it from a basketball fans point of view, the Knicks have a pretty solid squad.

Yet our fanbase won't go for that.

all i know is that Melo, Fatten, JR and Potatohead better came out and start winning and pass the *** second round! if not, and by god's name, if in Feb, Houston and Knicks both have the same record, then i hope MSG booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo them off the court EVERY **** game!
What's sad to me is that we could have had them BOTH. Harvard learning from one of the GOAT.

Now we have Fat learning from Drunk.

I dont think some people do not understand what we may be dodging here as well. I understand the young player thing but what if god forbid what if he is nothing more then a back up.... What if you were 14 million dollars for that......
There are two sides to every coin and the people here riding lins jock like he is the end all be all could heaven forbid be wrong. I hate loosing a young player for nothing but let's be realistic here chances are hr is closer to average then stardom. I understand the anger here bt come n let lin go if he wanted to stay according to reports he needed to speak up he did not good riddance to people who do not want to be here I don't want them
