Nope. I won't support the owner, franchise and certain players, but I will always support the name on the logo.

I am actually very curious about this. Why follow a team if you dislike everything about it BUT certain players. Are you supporting the players, the state, or what? I'm asking everyone.

I meant to say front office by the way lol.

Waiting until the last minute makes sense if they actually were matching, to screw over Houston.

But to not match and not say anything about it? The only people the Knicks are hurting are the fans. Lin is getting paid either way.

How anyone can defend Dolan is beyond me.

The New York Times would fire him in a second if he was making this up.

Beck said the same thing SAS has said: sources privy to the discussion say the front office has decided not to match Lin, although it's not unanimous and Dolan ultimately has the final say.

I believe someone told him that, but what I'm saying is if he was making sh*t up like Frank Isola, he would be fired. Unlike the Post and Daily News, the Times holds their writers to certain standards.

Said it before and I will say it again.. If LIN really wants to be a Knick, call up Dolan and tell him that. Show him your loyal and grateful to the Knicks

If Dolan really wants to get back at Houston, wouldn't he just match and leave them w/nothing?

I can't believe they are letting Lin walk for nothing. It takes a lot of balls to do this to a fan base that adores the guy.

Fact: Felton is overweight for a basketball PG.

From Marc Berman:
As we reported, Felton was promised starting PG guard when he signed, with Kidd as backup. Felton, Kidd, Spanish League warhorse Pablo Prigioni as third string will be fine. Unsure of Linsanity clamor once Felton came aboard. Why create an uncomfortable logjam filled with controversy. That’s not exactly what feel-good Disney Movie from last February/March was about. That was an unforgettable moment in time and would never be same. It passed when Lin redid offer sheet.

How is it hurting the fans? 90 percent of the fans arent sitting on this board talking about it. If its being reported everywhere that they most likely wont match, then they can just let the deadline pass.

BayareaKnicks wrote:This whole thing reminds me of the original decision when I was in Cleveland.

All this reports were coming out (Broussard) that LBJ was going to Miami but none of the fans in cleveland would believe it - stating that the inside sources got it all wrong - that no way in hell LBJ would embarrass the fans on national TV unless he was staying, etc ,etc. When the news finally broke, all the pent up anger unleashed -with people burning Jerseys, the owner going berserk, etc.etc.

I feel the same thing happening here. Face it guys.. you guys know it's over. We need to move on.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. Obviously this is nowhere near that (Lebron) stratasphere but it is clear denial IMO.

The first reports a few days ago weren't enough for me and even the talk of bringing in Felton I saw as more of a bluff or just a rumor. But once the Felton deal was pretty much finalized (although it took a little longer) I knew Lin was 100% gone. Just too obvious.

Not sure how anyone can still have hope after it's ^^^ right up there under the NBA headlines on this page lol. It's done. It sucks ass but it's done..

Good move Morey... good move.

Exactly... I'm not defending the Knicks FO - like I said they blew it by announcing them would match. But given their reaction it's clear to me that they felt they had a deal.

The other rationale that it was too expensive just doesn't hold water because if worst came to worst they could have waived him (as Larry Coon described) in the third year.

And I don't think they were like whoa - Felton is still available when Lin has all the intangibles that they love - i.e. the asian market.
Play time is over.

GettinitDone wrote:What if the whole thing is just a love prank from Dolan to Lin... instead of resentment? How real can this scenario be:

*A day after Knicks matching his contract at 11:57pm, Lin still shaking walks gingerly into Knicks locker room where everybody (players, coaches, Dolan) is waiting for him.
Everybody in the room bursts into LAUGHTER
Dolan: "Hey Jeremy, almost got you, didn't I?" (winked)
Lin: "Guys, for a while I thought you guys were serious" (shocked face)
Woody: "Relax dude, it was just a joke from all of us. This is your first free agency. Once in a lifetime. It's a family, New York joke."
Lin: "I love you guys"

To bad it was more like

Dolan: "Hey Jeremy, I-"
Lin: "Guys, for a while I thought you guys were serious" (shocked face)
Dolan: "It is, we had to let you go because we just signed Allen Iverson"
Isiah: "I also sent nine 1st round picks to Turkey to make it happen"
Lin: "But that's not even possibl-"
Layden: "Oh, it is possible young man. I was the architect!"
Tapscott: "Don't worry though. When you start wearing adult diapers, you'll get a call from us."

Even though Beck is very credible, he's assigned to the Nets now.

He knows people true enough, bit he could very well be quoting what SAS has been saying for the last few days.

I blame my father for being a Knicks, Jets,& Mets fan. Its all his fault that I'm being made to suffer like this.

Mets just kick their fans in the balls. Nats win on a walk off wild pitch.

Is dolan going to go on tv, broadcasting live from espn, and give us HIS decision?

That would be wonderful.
