In my opinion, Felton had Amare playing BEAUTIFUL pick n roll basketball. It was the most fun I've had post-2010 free agency. We started the year off bad, then everything began to click.

I know we kind of had a rehash of that same scenario with Lin last year, but it just seems to me he wants to be the "man" on a team. He gets that opportunity in Houston.

We have to bring in players that are gonna maximize the talents of our superstars. Jason Kidd has proven he can play with Tyson Chandler, now its time to prove he can make Melo/Amare work. Felton has proven he can get Amare numbers and doesn't do too bad for himself along the way, either.

I think having 2 ball handlers like Kidd & Felton on this team will be HELL for defenses. We now have 2 guys who can get Melo/Amare/Tyson the ball in their spots.

And the beauty of it all??? We get a FULL training camp to work out all the kinks.

NO MORE SEVEN SECONDS OR LESS.

NO MORE D'ANTONI PUTTING THE SHOT CLOCK ON SEVEN SECONDS IN PRACTICE AND EVERYONE LOOKING LIKE A DUMBASS.

Last year we started the year off with TONEY DOUGLAS as our starting PG. TONEY DOUGLAS!!! This year, we atleast have the luxury of picking either Felton or Kidd or starting them both and seeing what Prigioni has in the tank. This is gonna be fun for me.

I'm excited that we finally have a team full of VETS.

Felton will come into camp in shape and motivated. He knows he has to perform here or we'll just ship his punk ass out again.

Those stats don't account for the fact that Lin just runs the PnR much better.

They also don't show that Felton averaged 37 mins a game, while Lin averaged 26 MPG.

So in reality, those stats are useless

Woodson is our coach now. How many P&R's do ATL run?

The most important thing going into next season isnt a PG or Melo, or STAT

Its Woodson. We've dealt with crappy DAntoni training camps for so long, a legit one under a legit coach is going to change everything

I agree Lin is the better PG but as a starter in 34 mpg Lin averaged 18.2 ppg 7.7 apg 4.7 topg compared to 17.1ppg 9.0 apg 3.3 topg for Felton so the stats are comparable

Despite not being a Knick anymore, Lin will still be heavily marketed by Stern and the NBA.

Interesting take. Sadly, probably right.

IF Lin becomes anything close to an all-star he will be a bane to the Knicks existence. I guarantee you that.

I have to be honest. I would have bet anything that LIN would be starting this year. It was the one thing I thought the Knicks just could not mess up. The fan backlash would be insane. The fans LOVE LIN. He turned into the Jeter of the Knicks. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would see them let him go

I'm sorry but when you're expectations for a player are "when he gets in shape" or "if he's motivated" you've set them way too low.

Consistent defensive effort does make up for inconsistency on the offensive end.

This is dead wrong. Felton was terrible in the PnR. Amare scored more in isolation playing with Raymond Felton than at any other point in his career.

I don't know how people keep remembering this Raymond Felton who was great in the PnR. He simply didn't exist.

When Lin sets foot in the Garden I want them to boo him louder than they do Lebron and Isaiah Thomas.

We have one of the worst backcourts in the entire league. No front-court depth, at all. No assets. No picks. No prospects that can make a leap. Two "stars" that have never looked comfortable playing together. One of the worst, most unimaginative coaches in the L. A bench filled with geriatrics. Only two positions that aren't complete question marks (C and SF). We just let one of the most exciting talents in the league go for NOTHING...And posters are "ready to go to war" with this team.

Newsflash: We're the Hawks.
