I hope, as a fan base, we boo Jeremy Lin like never before. You all thought I had a hatred for LeBron James? Jeremy Lin is public enemy #1. Just gave my Lin jersey to my dog as a toy. I hope to god he falls flat on his face with the Rockets. 85% and sitting out during the playoffs? Go fk yourself china-man.

I know he's got a deep bench to pull from but...

Is this the single dumbest thing Dolan has done during his tenure?
Play time is over.

statistically, Lin is a better shooter, passer, off the dribble and defense.

unless you talking about fitting in with the old and/or fat culture

Statistically Lin has never played a full season. Get outta hea!

Even so, it's not about the stats. The PG position comes down to one thing, and one thing alone: Who runs the offense better?

Can you really tell me Felton ran the team better than Lin?

They both had extenuating circumstances. Felton did not have Melo. Lin did not play his best with Melo and Amare. With that being said, yes, Felton did run the team better than Lin. He runs the pick and roll with the intention of creating for others much better than Lin. Lin is the better finisher, but was not a better facilitator than Felton.

We were 8-1 with Lin, Amare, and Melo so I don't know what you are talking about.

Felton is a better facilitator than Lin? Really? Every statistical measure disagrees with you. Every single one.

One sports consultant said the adjustment to the offer sheet was a stroke of genius by Rockets general manager Daryl Morey.

''The Rockets deserve a lot of credit for the way they've gone about this,'' said Marc Ganis, president of Chicago-based SportsCorp. ''It was extremely intelligent - with an assassin's touch.''

I hope we never deal with Houston again.

What the Knicks need now and the future is not Lin
Knicks need a new owner and a new gm

Lin will get a standing ovation at MSG, book it. But then fans will want Chandler and Camby to knock him on his ass.

I don't know how people keep remembering this Raymond Felton who was great in the PnR. He simply didn't exist.

This is from that ESPN article comparing Lin and Felton's play last year...

As far as passing on pick-and-roll plays, Lin and Felton are almost identical. Felton passed the ball on 54 percent of his pick-and-roll plays, while Lin passed it 53 percent of the time. And both players’ teammates had nearly the same field-goal percentage and points per play on those passes. Felton passed it to the roll men more often, while Lin hit the cutters and spot-up shooters more often.

Felton was better at hitting the roll man last year in his worst season. I do think he's a better fit for Amare...the rest of the roster, jury's out.

That's because Felton pretty much ONLY passes it to the roll man. He is extremely predictable as a playmaker.

Do you see Portland moaning that they lost Felton?

Well were you implying that Felton wouldn't be effective finding Amare in the PnR or not? Because that seems like a contradiction to this last post. Felton will find Amare, maybe not others.

And Portland is kind of unfair for Felton. He wasn't happy there from jump, he came in out of shape and unmotivated. When he's been motivated and in shape, he has always been solid...not great, but certainly not bad. I don't like his play personally, but throughout his career...his numbers aren't bad!

markdeez33 wrote:In my opinion, Felton had Amare playing BEAUTIFUL pick n roll basketball. It was the most fun I've had post-2010 free agency. We started the year off bad, then everything began to click.

I know we kind of had a rehash of that same scenario with Lin last year, but it just seems to me he wants to be the "man" on a team. He gets that opportunity in Houston.

We have to bring in players that are gonna maximize the talents of our superstars. Jason Kidd has proven he can play with Tyson Chandler, now its time to prove he can make Melo/Amare work. Felton has proven he can get Amare numbers and doesn't do too bad for himself along the way, either.

I think having 2 ball handlers like Kidd & Felton on this team will be HELL for defenses. We now have 2 guys who can get Melo/Amare/Tyson the ball in their spots.

And the beauty of it all??? We get a FULL training camp to work out all the kinks.

NO MORE SEVEN SECONDS OR LESS.

NO MORE D'ANTONI PUTTING THE SHOT CLOCK ON SEVEN SECONDS IN PRACTICE AND EVERYONE LOOKING LIKE A DUMBASS.

Last year we started the year off with TONEY DOUGLAS as our starting PG. TONEY DOUGLAS!!! This year, we atleast have the luxury of picking either Felton or Kidd or starting them both and seeing what Prigioni has in the tank. This is gonna be fun for me.

I'm excited that we finally have a team full of VETS.

The irony of this post is too much. First you wax poetically about Feltons BEAUTIFUL p and r basketball, which itself was a product of the Mike D's system, and then you proceed to say how excited you are that we aren't playing that very same system anymore. Meaning Felton's actually going to be a playing in Woodson's iso-heavy offense, one very similar to McMillan's, the very offense he just had the worst season of his career in (not as if his career PRE D'ANTONI is anything above mediocre, either).

Woodsons system completely marginalizes the PG--why do you think Bibby's bum ass was his guy in ATL and NY. Go ISO and make em' play off the ball to spread the floor-- making Ray Felton, a player who needs to be in open court to look good, essentially worthless. Hell Woody's system didn't fit Lin either.

Telling you this is going to get ugly.

That is all I personally care about.

I said this and got killed for it

But yes without a doubt I believe Felton is a better fit especially seeing how well he does in the halfcourt

Well you know I stick with my own observations regardless of the popular opinion.

I would love to have both players, but in reality it just wasn't gonna happen.

I still believe the team just did not believe Lin was good enough.

Jeremy Lin's youth, upside, intelligence, humbleness and winning attitude just wasn't a good fit on the Knicks roster.
