Just wrapped the game – sorry, haven’t read the entire thread…

Scattershot observations:

No MKG? WTF!?!?!? I want my money back.

I love Rick Mahorn. Can we get him on a vet min?

If Mullens can give us inside/out every night, we’re good for at least 8 wins.

Where did Jeff Taylor’s offense go? Had a dismal game statistically, but has really good court awareness and played solid D. Beautiful dime to Mully on the break.

On the other hand, Higgins seems to have zero court vision as a passer. Yikes.

Kemba looked good, shot wasn’t falling but solid game – 8 assists, 1 TO, nice D taking a couple of charges.

Tricky Rick with the prolonged Cameo! He’s starting to look and sound like Tim Conway.

Hunter looked very good – active – hmmm.

3-0, baby. “They count. These games count.”

Kemba is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more Devin Harris, Raymond Felton, TJ Ford than he is Isiah Thomas, Allen Iverson, Chris Paul.

Apparently they're going to let him sit until 100% healthy. I don't really blame them. Knees are something that dont need to be messed with. Although Im dying to watch him again. He would have ripped Derrick Williams to shreds tonight.

According to Bonnell MKG has already been 100 percent for days now. He's been practicing full force with the team. In fact he was about the play the other game until literally 3 minutes before tip. It's frustrating as hell. I guess they are waiting for him to be 150% healthy. Personally, after all we have been through, this just makes me sick. I KNOW it's just minor (we hope), but I still just can't help but think back to all our miss-fortunes on draft picks...

Have they done a mri on MKG's knee, just wondering if he had any slight tears since it's been about 5 days since he got his injury. The way the knee buckled looked kinda ....scary (for lack of better words). If the knee was checked out and they found nothing and Gilchrist is ready to play, let him play for Pete's sake.

Mullens is gonna be my pre-season pick for most improved player of the year, and I think he's the only Bobcat capable of scoring 20 points per game. If I was Dunlap, I'd tell Mully to focus on scoring out of the post and rebounding, his goal should be 10 boards per game. Mully really has a high ceiling, he just needs to get back in the bing and develop more toughness from the inmates he breaks bread with in his off time.

I expected more from Biyombo, more boards, more points, and more blocks. He seems to have gotten bigger too, like he added about 10 pounds of muscle, I think I wanna see Biz get about 10-15 shots per game in the summer league, really this league for the Bobcats should be about the grooming of Biz, Mully, Kemba and MKG, so let these guys get the bulk of the plays, I dont really care if we win or lose, I just wanna see the main players get the chance to develop.

the only way mully could score 20ppg would be on lousy fg%. as soon as teams starting gameplanning or doubling him his fg% would drop. i'll be happy with double figures, improved rebounding and defense and locking down the starting power forward spot for the season.

If Kemba can be 08-09 Devin Harris, I'm absolutely cool with that.

I think they are taking the patient apporach with Biz. As the announcers said last night (or was it Bonnell?), Biz probably came into the league with less coaching than any player ever has. So I think everyone knew going in that it would be a process with him. So I don't think they are worried so much about his numbers, but are more focused on him learning and mastering the techniques that will make him a solid long-term starter. To me, it seems as if he is thinking about his movements, and understanding what is going on on the floor.

I believe he has the natural skills to develop into a dominant defender and shot blocker, but also a competent scorer (nothing special, but around 13-15 points a game). However, that is going to take time, and as fans, we need to be patient with him and just be happy seeing consistent improvement. And that is something he has shown, while his numbers may not reflect it, he has shown improvement in his FT shooting and is obviously working on some post moves.

My biggest concern with him, though, is his aggressiveness. I just see a tentativeness in his game that will hold him back from ever reaching his potential if he doesn't overcome it. Now, it may be something as simple as still being a bit uncertain and not comfortable letting it all hang out, but I just don't sense that killer mentality in him...yet. However, on the few times he has shown aggressiveness, I think we can see the kind of dominant potential he has. I just wish we would see more of it.

I actually agree with ball teacher, Mully is a matchup nightmare if/when he figures how to use his combination of size and shooting. The trick to becoming a 20 ppg scorer for him will be learning how to draw fouls and get to the line for easy ones, a la Nowitzki.
