Then you are in serious denial and I am glad you play no role in the decision. Injured in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. But no chance, huh? Look, I have no desire to belabor the point or argue about it. He has a strong history of injury and he will command a heavy contract. If injury strikes him we are severely screwed. I do not happen to think we can take that chance. We agree to disagree. But it perplexes me when there are some who want Bynum so bad that they will ignore a strong possibility of further injury problems. If not for that, and his attitude, I would be in the "get Bynum column."

Some people just want to believe Bynum will magically stay healthy, although he been injured for the past few years. He was healthy last year, but remember, he just had a knee operation over the summer.

Reading through some of the posts yesterday, I had a good laugh. I saw some people talked about how "smart" he is compared to Howard, lmfao. Get the f out with that shish. I don't care if he's Stephen Hawking off the court, just watch his game; there's no way he play smarter than Howard on the court, where, you know, it matters. I know hating on Howard is the thing right now, many can argue that it's justifiable, but he's still miles ahead of Bynum. I rather take the Houston package than an injury-prone big man from the Lakers, without shedding much salaries and zero draft picks, even if he's the 2nd best center in the league.

I dont know how this will turn out, but I have a problem with a 3 way deal that turns LAL into NBA champs, Houston into a playoff team and us into the Bobcats.

I would rather deal with Houston directly, unless LA is willing to trade off Bynum and Gasol for a whole lot of picks/players that will be coming our way for Howard. That would make sense for us.

Otherwise, just deal with Houston and leave LA out of it.

Jalen Rose making great points about the situation on Mike and Mike.

-The Magic have the advantage on waiting for a deal because other teams will get desperate.

-We have the commodity.

-The Magic don't want Lopez or late round picks, want a guy that can sell jerseys.

-Dwight will have to be a professional if this stretches to January.

-If anything Dwight loses the 25 mill.

-Dwight did this to himself by signing the opt in and lying about loyalty.

Some one should tell Rose the entire NBA world already knows Howard is a douche bag. Maybe the biggest in the NBA. The Lebron decision pales in comparison to what this idiot is doing.

LOL, I agree about his injury history. I'm not too worried about it though.

ESPN updated their article last night:

While the Los Angeles Lakers continued to engage the Orlando Magic in discussions to acquire All-Star center Dwight Howard, there was no face-to-face meeting between Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak and Orlando general manager Rob Hennigan on Tuesday, a league source told ESPNLosAngeles.com.

The Lakers remain committed to pursuing Howard even without assurances he'd sign a long-term extension with the club. What's unclear to both sides is whether Orlando would accept Andrew Bynum without assurances he'd sign a long-term extension.

Cleveland and Houston, both of whom are under the salary cap and rich in prospects and future draft picks, have engaged the Magic as potential third-team facilitators. However nothing is imminent on that front and the most substantial discussions have been directly between Orlando and Los Angeles.

I'll say this, if Orlando truly were interested in Andrew Bynum, we would have gotten him by now. Orlando says they want a person who could be an all star in return for Dwight, but if they have not obtained Bynum at this point I don't believe they ever will.

It wouldn't be a bad thing to flip Bynum for more talent. For example, if Howard ends up in L.A., They would send Orlando Ebanks (Only because his name has been attached multiple times to 'source' rumors), they would take a bad contract from Orlando. Bynum ends up in let's say Houston, and in return we get a couple of their rookies, and a bad contract off of our hands with a first round pick.

IMO, i don't think the problem is Bynum. The problem is getting a commitment from Bynum. Why trade a top 3 player for another player that can walk away for nothing in less than a year and have nothing to show for the trade? We can get Bynum, no problem, but can we get an extended Bynum? probably not. So you go with Houston's package and get back rookies that you'll have for the next 4 yrs, at least.

Dwight opted in because he wanted to save his image (at the last hour) with the Magic given more so then getting trade to a team like Houston or Lakers then bolting to BK Nets in off season!

Notice how quickly Dwight changed his tune when the trade deadline approach last year  ...IMO his agent didn't care if he got traded to another team as long as he got to BK Nets in 2012 off season (D12 and his camp had this plan mapped out). But ultimately, Dwight thought different as he believed in our management again, that's why he mentioned "loyalty".

After he opted in he was cool with front office until the SVG mess then what made matters worse he had surgery and he claimed management did not see him as much...as he viewed it felt betrayed by the franchise and in the back of his mind he knew he gave BK Nets free agency up at the expense of broken promises by Orlando Magic front office.

Does that make sense?

I think you deal for the best player (Bynum). If things don't work out, you trade him at the dead line. Maybe won't get as much value as far as picks/rookies/salary dump as DH, but he'll surely have more teams on his list than one.

We need to get bad real quick. That's the only way we can ressurect this franchise. We don't have the luxury of worrying about what the rockets and Lakers become, we have to focus on our own destiny and right now that's the NBA lottery.

The irony in your statement is that Devos is 85 years old and wants to win now. He has stated last season that he does not want to rebuild. But, he may be changing his mind, we will see.

a guy who id offer a contract to would Be chris anderson. he would be a Fan Favorite with his Heart and Hustle something that we love over here. if we can get him for the MIN or close to it we should because hes had to battle and Overcome his Problems to get back in the NBA and would be a good mentor for the young bigs on our team to look up to.
