Josh Childress?
Has anyone heard if he has anything left in the tank? I know that things soured pretty quickly in PHX, but if he can still play a little he may fit in really well with a 2nd unit that includes Augustin, Green, Hansbrough and Mahinmi.

I think he left his game in Greece. he hasn't been worth a thing since he came back. you have to be careful about rushing to grab some other team's cast-offs because there is always a reason they cast them off.

I dont think Childress is better than anyone the Pacers have on the wings currently. Also there really isnt any minutes for him there considering that George and Granger will play most of the minutes and Green and Stephenson will clean up the rest. He would likely only play in garbage time or in extreme foul situations.

My only thought is that he would be an inexpensive guy to try. No need to give him more than a year. He has a lot to prove.
I don't feel like Stephenson is ready to be part of a legitimate rotation. I suppose Hill can mop up the 2 guard to a certain extent (playing off of Augustin) as well. It just seems like another wing is sorely needed at this point.

Re: Josh Childress?
I think we are fine on the wings. We have 5 solid guys available to man positions 1 - 3 (Granger, George, Hill, Augustine, and Green). That's before you even consider how much run to throw at Lance. At crunch time a rotation of eight guys is fine. I could see adding a pg guard on a rookie contract but Lance might be able to cover that in a pinch. I think we are done short of a rookie freecagent who knocks our socks off.

Yup. Seems to have mentally lost his game. Heck, he only made it to the free throw line TWICE last year (and he hit neither). That's in 491 minutes played. Seriously. He just lost his mental game.

It's pretty puzzling. At the age of 29, he's not old by any means. Yet, his game has severely dropped off. I'd rather bring Barbosa back if we go the route of bringing back a veteran.

Barbosa was at least someone who pleased the coaches with his locker room attitude. he didn't show much in that US v Brazil game though. he was wonderful when he first got here and then sprained his ankle and did nothing afterwards. I think we've moved on.

Indiana won't consider Childress. He is done.
