From what I understand the Magic want to not only rid themselves of D12, but also everybody on the team that shares the same agent (Dan Fegan) as him such as Jason Richardson and Chris Duhon. In a proposed deal during last season Steve Blake was headed to Orlando. I'm figuring the Magic would rather go with Blake than Duhon.

Gotcha, didn't know they shared the same agent. I was just looking at the dollar amount and the fact that they were looking to save money.

It gets D12 out of the conference and pairs a young and up-and-coming stud PG with a top 5 center. That's a good recipe for success assuming they can surround them with the right talent (shooters, defensive specialists).

+1 The Cavs will not get a better big man than Bynum. This is their best shot at pairing Kyrie with another legit All Star. I view a big man and a point guard as the two most essential building blocks to a team. The Cavs would have two good players at those spots and could even look at add one more All Star and form their own big 3. If I'm Dan Gilbert I would loosen my hard ass stance for once and do everything I could to acquire Andrew Bynum because he will most likely never get a better opportunity ever again.

Sam Amico ‏@SamAmicoFSO
Andrew Bynum OK w/Cavs, & Lakers believe Dwight Howard eventually would be OK w/them. But lots of bad contracts have to be moved for deal.

@WiseGuyLA: Bad contracts = J. Richardson + H. Turkoglu. Lakers willing to take both players but need someone to take back player. Sam Amico reports.

@Jay_Laker: The #Lakers are willing to take back both J Rich and Hedo in a deal for dwight, but they want someone to take 1 of their contracts

Hmmmmm... sounds fishy to me...

By the way fellas... I was at the Dodgers game last night and I saw D12 on the jumbotron myself... D12 definitely got a kick out of the attention... I would say it was 80% cheers and 20% boo's from the crowd.

I don't understand why Dan Gilbert would help facilitate the Lakers getting Howard...

Why does that sound Fishy? The Magic want to unload those two and we're willing to take them. In order for it to all work out salary wise I believe we have to unload another player, such as Blake perhaps.

because he doesn't like you and wants you to stop watching basketball. Why else would Gilbert be helping someone? He'd be getting Bynum!

Hmm would be hard to accept Turkoglu in purple and gold, truly hard but with Dwight here I don't think I'd give much of a **** and if Turk can still shoot maybe he'll be a decent 3 off the bench for us.

I don't think L.A. can take and really match all these outgoing-incoming salaries even with Metta+Blake+McRoberts. There's a good 5-7m gap in there. I doubt they want Turkoglu. Richardson makes sense because it simply means L.A. is is extending their payroll into future years not the critical 2013-2014 year.

There's a point L.A. will break discussions. J.O. has nothing to do with anything since he can still be signed for the minimum, but the Lakers have to make some choices on back court or wing players soon. Mitch won't be stuck on this deal any longer.

It's not just about Gilbert helping the Lakers, but also himself. He has the chance to land a legitimate post threat and one of the best centers in the league in Bynum. Why would he NOT jump on that?

If he sits on his ass and does nothing the Cavs will be stuck in mediocrity and be visiting the lottery a few more times.

Sounds fishy to me cause I don't see the Lakers taking Hedo AND Richardson... if they do though Blake and MWP would definitely have to be sent out.

BIG NASTY

Joe McDonnell ‏@joeontheradio

Orlando's new GM thinks he can get Dwight Howard to change his mind and stay. Otherwise-a source tells me-the Laker deal would nearly b done

I can see it happening. MWP is a solid player for us, but I'd give him up in a heartbeat if it meant having to take on those extra contracts just to get Howard. Turk's contract definitely sucks, but he's still a solid player and can contribute off the bench. Richardson would also be a solid backup behind Kobe.

oh dear. What is their owner doing? Maybe it's time he got his hands in this and did the trade himself.
