You're not getting it. Lebron's value is literally hundreds of millions in revenue to Miami and the NBA. What if he has a career ending injury playing in the Olympics?

that's the risk he's taking then, its his choice to play in the olympics no one is making anyone play
no different than playing a pick up game at home, or during practice or heck during a regular season game. why doesn't stern just ban actually playing the game altogether so then no one gets hurt
then we can just play the games on paper and get the season done in a month

Yes I get it. I want to see the best play in the Olympics too but I won't be mad if Stern actually forced the under 23 rule. I could understand why he would do that.
It just makes no sense for the NBA to send in a $1 billion roster to the Olympics every 4 years.
