He's won more than James Dolan.

I have a serious question. I read lin's SI article and listened to the michael kay show. michael kay said that lin went to ny with the unoffical offer, got them to verbally "handshake" on the match, and then Lin went back to the Rockets to ask for an increase. That's the complete opposite of what Lin said in the article. The SI writer (interviewed on michael kay in earlier segment) who interviewed Lin confirmed that Lin/camp didn't go back and forth like that.

Then tonight, a Houston beatwriter was interviewed by Rothenberg and he said that it was Morey's doing. Once they heard Woodson's public confirmation, they increased the offer in fear of losing Lin.

I'm just beating a dead horse but which is it? I guess it doesn't matter, what it comes down to is, he wasn't worth the risk. If someone's worth it, you'd do anything for them.

I'm sad, disheartened, disappointed, angry and quite deflated. At this point I'm too non-plussed to even function, so I'm going to bed.

I miss you already Jeremy. We all miss you.

This is a true sports tragedy. It will be many yrs before this franchise lives this down.

Jeremy Lin was an educated, classy gentleman. Now we see Dolan bro-hugging that scumball JR! What's wrong with this picture?

We lost Jeremy and received ZERO in return. Wow Dolan---you are are a great businessman!

Don't fall for the NY media spin biglove it was all Morey's doing. He admitted to being in a bad spot with Lowry and Dragic gone and felt the original offer wasn't going to get it done so he decided to up the offer to increase the chances of the knicks not matching.

45 Pages of straight crying and whining.

You guys need to grow some.

I don't care that this is insulting but seriously, people have got to stop acting like they all know what the real reason was as to why they didn't want to bring back. No one knows what happens in the management room so people have to chill.

The fact that this is stickied its just

Yea, that's pretty consistent with what i've read/listened to outside of NY. Sounds like it's a NY thing.

Nobody cares why they didn't want to bring him back. The opinions of Isiah Thomas cronies mean nothing to me. I just want them all fired, and Dolan forced to sell the team. Or maybe kidnapped by aliens...actually, now that I think of it, I prefer the kidnapped by aliens scenario..

Dolan is the worst owner in recent New York sports history. I only wish he had invested his Cablevision fortune with Bernie Madoff...

All those losses, and not once did we ever have a chance to draft our savior! No Lebron, no Howard, no Durant, no Rose, no nothin'

Hell, we could have gotten LaMarcus Aldridge at least!

I've had a rough couple of years... I can be a real jerk... a little too sarcastic and stubborn as hell. ANd I'm no different then anyone else in where I want to see something one way even though it's not really the truth. And I'll lay out a pretty convincing argument to the point where I'll convince myself that it's the truth, it has to be the truth and nothing else can be the truth... then something like this will come along and I'll be kicking myself in the ass thinking... you should have known better man. There is a reason this ownership is amongst the worst in sports... it's not something that people made up because they hate NY. The 2010 free agency and the hopes of landing the one player that was a sure thing to a championship fooled me... fooled me bad and I dove right back in this time only to be made a fool of.

Here's the thing about life... society has gotten to the point where anyone, if it benefits them can justify anything. You have what would seemingly be good people making a living out of defending killers on a day to day basis or defending corporations that cause destruction around the world with no regard because it's their job.

And on a smaller scale most people just don't know the difference between right and wrong anymore... the line has become so blurry that you just can't see it anymore.. we've become a society of know it alls... or people who want to be right all the time. I have a problem in where I'm pretty good at arguing and playing devils advocate... well that's not a good thing.. not a good thing at all... there is no pot of happiness at the end of the argument rainbow. Just a hollow feeling that can only be filled up with more arguing.

And no I don't want any part of moderating and I know they don't want any part of me. Hopefully things are going to go back to normal for me and I'll just keep checking in for news and stuff. But I can't take this team or this franchise seriously anymore.. I'm not getting anything out of it.. no satisfaction. I'm a basketball fan first.. I love the game and have played it my whole life. I think I'm a pretty good judge of individual talent. But my love of sports stretches beyond the NBA... Just tonight I'll be up all night watching the British open.. because golf has replaced the other sports as my favorite sport to watch and play.

Well as a Toronto fan find it laughable that Dolan a billionare is crying about a newly minted millionare in Lin doing a deal that if it was Dolan he would have done the same thing in a NY minute. Grunwald is the perfect GM for Dolan a very nice personable guy but a yes man. When he was in Toronto let Vince Carter be the defacto GM getting a washed up Dream.

Honestly, how do you think we'll do this year? Besides losing Lin (FAIL), we added some good, older/veteran pieces. Don't you think Amare/Melo will come into camp determined to prove everyone wrong so each time Melo scores, he can remind everyone that, "this is my house!" ?!

I don't know what's up with Amar'e to tell you the truth. This idea that felton was the reason he had that good stretch of games of 30+ is just someone who is removed from watching the actual games.

Carmelo? I saw a side of him that I've never seen last year. I lived in Denver and have been to about a dozen games and he was always a very relaxed and calm player... I didn't see that in NY last year save from the last month of the season. Linsanity really got in his head and when he came back from injury he played like a rookie.. he was forcing shots, looked tight and tense... the polar opposite of the player he was in Denver... and then in the playoffs he went right back to that tight and tense player... clanking jumpshots... 3-15 in game 1 with 4 turnovers... 7-23 in game 3 with 5 turnovers... and then in the game we won if you remember we were up 1 with the ball and he got fouled behind the 3pt line... perfect time to ice the game and put it out of reach... no he clanks 2 of 3 free throws and Wade has a clear shot for the win but missed... rookie like performances.. like he had never been in that situation before.

So I'm sure Lin's departure is going to give him some sort of relief because I think if the team played bad and he played badly he wouldn't be able to recover from the scrutiny and the media pressure of NYC that I though at first he could handle but I admit I was wrong.

Chandler should have a good year but I think he needed to work on some post moves but now with the olympics I don't see him getting that chance.

Shumpert I hope gets better but I don't expect anything like what we saw last year until the year after. I just hope the fans are patient with his recovery.

I'm pretty sure Kidd checked out last year... he don't have that look in his eyes anymore.

Felton? Ugh... I never have liked his game.. he doesn't run the point smoothly enough for me and lacks the creativity to keep Amar'e and Melo happy at the same time. And I've yet to see the player that had weight issues age well.

JR Smith? The guy has the IQ of a worm in the floor and Woody's love affair with trying to parent him through games will be the ire of Knicks fans this year.. mark my words.

Love Camby... hopefully you can get 20 minutes out of him.

Novak... I don't know about Novak.. I have a feeling Smith is going to infringe on his back up 3minutes.

I'll be interested in one guy on the team Prigrioni just because he's a traditional PG with exceptional court vision.

Kurt Thomas is going to be cheerleader material.

The teams success is going to rely on health as most do but this team is going to be really frail.

I say middle of the pack 4-6 seed.. maybe a couple of wins in the first round but doesn't get out of the 2nd.. I don't think they're better than Boston.. probably fighting it out with Indy and Bklyn for the 4 seed.. definitely can't touch Miami.

melo played like a rookie? linsanity didn't get in his head... the hating media and fans did. he was pressing because he was trying to prove he's still a top player and he recognized that no one else on the team was capable of doing anything worthwhile, especially in the playoffs once shump went down. it was basically miami vs. melo. no one else was even worth guarding.

he was dealing with injuries all year which affected his whole game.

but if you wanna be a debbie downer that's cool go for it. just don't jump on the bandwagon when we're smashing teams next year and act like you believed all along.
