Wat chu talkin' bout destro? :curse:

That's what I read a couple hours ago, it wasn't from what I'd consider a credible "source" though. The timing of these rumors is quite odd if I do say so myself.

I still don't understand how this makes a deal any more likely? So we got Howard cause he said he'll resign? I feel like a step's missing.

It's not anymore likely than it was yesterday, but a commitment is a huge step.

Getting real excited. Havent felt this way since we last won championships after acquring Pau and after acquring Shaq..

I mean, I am just mesmerized by this starting lineup:

KOBE NASH HOWARD GASOL MWP
(and I always considered MWP a star, unlike all the others who wanted him amnestied. why? He's our key stretch defender)

JAMISON
J HILL (please re-sign)
EBANKS (please stay)
J ONEAL ?

Minus J Oneal, we have our shortened 8-man rotation for playoffs and I think is outstanding.
Cant wait for this season. Let's go!!
Kobe Bryant forever
GO LAKERS
8-)
I've heard it through the grapevine..NBA gods have already designated Los Angeles LAKERS as NBA Champions in near future. The destiny is real. TRUST ME.

That report about Hennigen and Howard speaking is old. Maybe 2 weeks old. I think that came out before Brook Lopez signed the extension.

Lakers better sign and extend before he changes his mind. Mitch, you have about 6 hours.

Magic, Lakers, Cavs Making Progress In D12 Talks
July 19 at 11:03am CST By Luke Adams

The Magic, Lakers, and Cavaliers have the "framework" in place for a trade that would send Dwight Howard to Los Angeles and Andrew Bynum to Cleveland, according to Sam Amico of FOX Sports Ohio (via Twitter). While Amico hears that the three teams are moving closer to a deal, a Lakers official denies that anything is imminent (Twitter link). Amico clarifies that there is talk throughout the league that a trade is getting closer, but none of those rumblings seem to be coming from the Magic, Lakers, or Cavs camps (Twitter link).

Overnight reports suggested that Howard has become open to the idea of signing a long-term deal if he's traded to the Lakers, which removes one significant roadblock from the discussions. However, the Magic still don't appear to be in any rush to pull the trigger quite yet. I'd be a little surprised if they finalized a deal before the Rockets get resolution on Omer Asik and are able to make their final offer to Orlando.

The talks involving the Magic, Lakers, and Cavs would reportedly include the Lakers taking on Howard and a bad contract or two, the Cavs acquiring Bynum and perhaps another bad contract, and the Magic getting Anderson Varejao, draft picks, and cap relief.

I just came over to this board to see how the fans are reacting to the developments. Who knows what will happen, but i have to say that even as a non-Lakers fan, I would love tuning in to watch this squad ball.

Good luck.

I didn't think anything could top the fiasco that occurred last season, but this offseason is making a strong case.

Looking forward to the Howard saga being over one way or another.

The funny thing with that is there was a point in time where he actually didn't know how, but then I think he learned.
