Hou or Cle, doesn't matter to me. Henny has a plan for the future, something Otis never did....

We better not deal with the Lakers, unless we are getting Bynum, plus the Lakers flip Gasol for picks/young players to send our way as well and that 3rd team also takes a couple of our players like Hedo and JRich.

^ Don't get me wrong, I won't complain if we actually went the Bynum route, aslong as it ain't Lopez...
I trust Henny.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt.XLI Off-Season Edition)
If Bynum really wants to be in Houston, I think we would rather just pursue him in the offseason as a free agent.
I don't forsee Houston being involved in any 3 way deals with Orlando, where Dwight doesn't end up in Houston.

Hence why the Cavs are involved. If Houston doesn't give up enough assets then they could end up without either center.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt.XLI Off-Season Edition)
why is everyone freaking out abt the rumored CLE deal??? Just because Rudolph/Howards camp and Chris Broussard mentioned it doesn't make it true. I'd only worry if interest was coming from Orlando...the reason we haven't made a deal with HOU yet is because the Lin situation just got cleared up and now we are waiting on Asik. No way Hennigan can iron out final package not knowing if they get Asik and what their cap room will be.

Probasketballdraft @Probballdraft
Lots of people are tweeting about Dwight Howard trades. Spoke with agents, executives from Lakers, Cavs, & Magic and all said no deal close.

You always post as if you are involved in HOU's front office. Why do you even keep posting here??? Nobody here cares...

Chad Ford gave the Magic a F in his off-season grades. The Hornets get an A+
is he too soon to speculate on the Magic... Posted in July 13.

I don't think its so much that Bynum wants HOU and only HOU but rather he's willing to go there now just so that he doesn't have to go back to LA. Apparently he's also willing to go to CLE as well. Dude just wants out.
The best way to get him is to do it now before you have competing options for him. Heck even ORL could go after him if he's a FA at the end of the year.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt.XLI Off-Season Edition)
the good news, Magic fans? GM Otis Smith is gone.
The bad news? I'm not sure Jerry West, let alone rookie GM Rob Hennigan, can fix the mess Smith left.
The Dwight Howard situation is out of control. The Magic screwed up badly when they didn't trade him before the season began or at the trade deadline. Smith mistakenly thought that the longer the Magic waited, the better offers they would get. It has turned out to be the opposite.
Howard is largely to blame. His decision to give the Magic just one team to trade him to backfired. The Magic couldn't get enough assets from the Nets to make the deal worthwhile, and Brooklyn got so frustrated that the management finally threw its hands up in the air and went in a different direction.
Now, Howard and the Magic are at a bit of a standoff. Howard is threatening to bolt this summer for the Mavericks. The Mavs have virtually nothing of value to offer the Magic in return. The other interested teams -- the Lakers, Rockets and Hawks -- have decent offers but are reluctant to pull the trigger without Howard's commitment. (The Rockets may be an exception to this.)
The Magic's best hope may lie with the Rockets, who are amassing an enormous amount of assets and cap space, hoping that the Magic will reconsider their offer if Houston is willing to take back most of Orlando's undesirable contracts -- Hedo Turkoglu, Jason Richardson, Glen Davis and/or Chris Duhon -- as part of the deal. If nothing else, that offer would allow the Magic to start over from scratch.
However this ends -- and we're all praying it ends sometime before February -- it won't end well for either Howard or the Magic. In the meantime, the Magic are in limbo. They re-signed Nelson and added a few interesting draft prospects; I'm a fan of Nicholson and O'Quinn. But they lost Anderson, their second-best player last season, when his contract demands escalated, and they are still burdened by a few awful contracts.
The road back to relevance for the Magic has never been more obfuscated.

The problem is if we trade D12 to LA before/during the season, Bynum may not be available as a FA.

I remember when BK fell off the wagon for Dwight, people thought we would keep Dwight
It got tiring telling everyone Dwight would just extend his list...I should be an insider

I've never seen Ford mention anything good about the Magic. He even bashed us for taking Howard over Okafor.
He was singing sweet nothings about Andrew Nicholson as a lottery pick leading up to the draft. Now we get an F? Haters wanna hate.

dont hold your breath. LA can easily walk away and play with their team they have now. They dont have to make this deal. They do it to upgrade, but they dont have to do it.
everyone better understand, we arent going to get 5 prospects, multiple draft picks AND ship out all our bad contracts. If Dwight was under contract and healthy, then maybe. But not now.
