nice kid, feel bad for him
hard to give a kid a reasonable explanation for Lin's departure when you don't even have one for grownups

Yeah I didn't know what to say besides this isn't the first time the owner made a bad decision, wish I had an answer that would make sense to him, but as you said I'm clueless myself. :-?

I feel sad for the kid. Give him a hug for us. He can watch Lin on the Rockets when he comes to town or if he's on tv, I guess. So maybe that's something that can help.

Oh, and I think this is the cleaned up link if you had trouble clicking on the first one:

NM, I'll just embed it.

Most of us live & learn, unless you're a Knick fan, you live and teach... your kids never to be a Knicks fan.

This should be sent to Jimmy D. to see firsthand the trauma inflicted on this poor child.

Nice video, I feel for your son and hope he gets over this heartbreak soon. I did find encouragement in how you interacted with your son. This country need more good dads like yourself that have a true and health relationship with their children. Keep up the good work raising a true blue & orange Knick fan.

Your kid is awesome, and he knows his ****.

Smart little guy. Picking up details off the radio, knowing the roster... watch what you say around him.

Many broken-hearted little ones in Denver over Tebow. A LOT of parents latched onto him as a role-model for their kid, and they could feel the excitement he generated... much like Lin.

This is totally gonna go viral. Notice how he stammers a little bit when he says he's gonna be a Nets fan...

Please make him a Net fan while he's still young. Don't doom him to a lifetime of watching the Knicks. There is another team now in NYC, for the young, I heartily endorse this move.

You should follow that advice yourself. Seriously.

Pretty sure I've been a Knick fan a lot longer than you, in spite of your impressive "post count".

I remember them before this bum Dolan took over the team and ran it like Ringling Brothers. If I could have read the future, I'd have probably picked another team, if I knew I was in for a 15 years and counting run of complete incompetence, where we literally became worse for longer than the Clippers.

I was kidding when I said that, but you know what, only half kidding.

I've seen Clyde play as a kid and have been party to the incompetence longer than most, and yet I refrain from spewing senseless garbage in thread after thread. **** gets old. Maybe you enjoy unloading your negativity on others, but there are threads for that. Knock yourself out. If you can't leave the BS out of a thread as cool as this one, why not move on?

This is the best thing that could have happened to Jermey Lin....leaving this "Insanity" now without his name...and drama of New York....and playing with a bunch of Prima-Donnas and jealous Whack jobs that are demanding the ball...and his job is to baby sit them and keep them happy...get real...

Lin will shine and put up nice numbers in Houston.....which will eventually land him another great deal down the line.....he is very generous with his money...and will put it to good causes...smart move leaving Jeremy.....we will be stuck with these Drama queens for quite some time....

It's insane around here man. It's like like have 10 Opts and 20 TheBluest running around. Someone needs to run IP checks immediately.

He'll get used to it, I'm +20 years older and I still cry sometimes when I think about the Knicks.

Howewer, he's still young to change his favorite team.

Why not just ignore it? You can't expect everyone to follow the pack all the time. People have different stuff going on in their lives at different times. One's own life over fandom every day of the week. I wouldn't let peoples disappointment with the team cause you to look at them badly.

The guys that are pissed off about what happened to me are every bit as passionate even more than the fans that are willing just to go along with every damn thing this franchise does.

Tell him that there is a lot of us feeling the same way, and he can still follow/root for Lin, and root for the Knicks. Take him to Garden when Lin comes to town.

Wise words. I try to ignore it by not participating in bash threads, but I can't seem to escape it. For the record, I'm not on board with what's going on, I just don't think it's the end of the world.

I hear you... I'm not happy about what happened one bit. But this was a blessing in disguise for me because I was taking sports WAY too serious... like depending on it for some happy times... just kept getting let down. It got to the point where because competition wasn't there for me anymore I looked at these teams to win for me and when they didn't I felt like I wasn't a winner anymore and I won a whole heck of a lot more than I lost when I was playing. Winning on a personal level for me was 1000x more satisfying than leaving it in the hands of guys I didn't know... I don't if any of these dumb asses that are left on the team care more about winning than I did... I don't know how serious they take their craft. Most of these cats in the NBA are in the league because of Athletic ability and because they know how to put the ball in the bucket. And they're pampered and lose that hunger that a guy like Kobe never loses.. that's what separates Kobe and Mike from everyone else.. that hunger.

Then you have some awkward looking cat like Manu Ginobilli come along and he's taking them to school and holding up trophies... I sure as hell know that man cares because he had to fight against the grain to get to the league... same with the kid we just let go.. that kid had more to fight then just playing the game.. that tells me there is something inside that man that not a lot of these other cats have.

Return to New York Knicks
