Terrence Ross, steal?

Post#1 » by number15 » Thu Jul 19, 2012 10:42 pm

Terrence Ross, 8th overall - (Toronto Raptors)

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1259643-nba-summer-league-2012-stats-top-players-who-will-see-success-next-season

people called him a reach, or that RAPS only picked him with Nash in mind, the "Nash pick", as he was being called.

but he's looked great so far. Yeh its only summer league, but im not talking about his stats. He is a nice game that will translate into the NBA very well.

he has a sweet stroke, very athletice and plays like hell on defense.... some GMs r calling him the potential steal of the draft, after everyone said he was a huge reach.

what r ur thoughts on the Huskies star, now Raptors rookie...

even before summer league... as a college player, he was great. shoulda been a clear lotto pick. but ppl said he was a reach.

im gonna come out and say he will be better than all the highly rated guys that went after him... yeh, im talking Drummon, Lamb, Rivers and Perry Jones etc..

Drummond, Rivers, and PJIII all had a ton of detractors.

We won't know about any of them until they hit the court.

they definitely reached to get him, they passed up Lamb, Rivers, Harkless and Drummond for him.

Hopefully for the Rap he can turn out to be a star regardless. Westbrook was a reach pick for example.

he was projected to be the 13th pick at most. so, no. it's not a steal.

He can't really be a "steal" at 8, but I think he'll certainly turn into a player worthy of that pick, maybe even a couple spots higher.

Waiters was the reach at 4 Lamb is really the only other guard I would have taken over Ross.

He's not a steal at 8.

8 is around where he should have been picked all along - if he was picked not in the top 10 like he was predicted to be a long time, he would have absolutely been a steal - at 8 he's just a good solid pick.

I think what he's shown so far justifies the 8th selection, but wouldn't call him a steal

Why is he going to be good? Because he's active and athletic? He has very few NBA ready skills.
