What are the Lakers planning to do with Darius Morris?
Just wondering, since the signing of Nash he would be 3rd string PG, right? Is he going to end up rotting on the bench, or will the Lakers try and trade him?
I can see the Lakers trading him because if Nash goes down with an injury, the Lakers are still contenders so they would want a veteran backup PG, no?
What would need to go the other way in a trade for Morris? And is there anything on the Raptors roster that would do?
Say if Nash got a season ending injury before the trade deadline, would the Lakeshow have any interest in the expiring contract of Calderon?

If Nash got a season ending injury, we're gonna be too busy curling up in a corner crying.

I like Morris. He's a cool and good-lookin kid and we need him to do the bump with MWP when he gets introduced in the starting lineup.

If Morris improves and starts pushing Blake for time during the season I can see the Lakers using the amnesty on Blake next summer and making Morris the main backup PG.

Re: What are the Lakers planning to do with Darius Morris?
It's obvious the Lakers have plans for him otherwise they wouldn't have extended him a QO. And looking at the summer league team he's the only one that will be on our regular roster and learning under Nash.

4....but that's not always a handles issue. To me his handle is OK, D-Mo's main problem is control with his body. Still too hurried but he's finding himself, he'll figure it out.H00PDREAMS wrote:Tekkenlaw wrote:9 dimes in his today's summer league game.

He's just an insurance policy. If either Blake or Nash goes down, we're going to need anybody to take some PG minutes. I don't think there's much options for a decent PG with cap situation.

Re: What are the Lakers planning to do with Darius Morris?
Morris is a keeper.
Lakers can keep Morris and get that veteran combo guard they need by simply releasing Andrew Goudelock.
You just don't need Goudelock anymore with Johnson-Odom in tow.
J-Odom is the bigger/longer of the two and also the more athletic.
I've been preaching about getting Keyon Dooling, but I think Barbosa is ultimately the better choice for that backup veteran combo guard.

Re: What are the Lakers planning to do with Darius Morris?
I don't put much stock into the Summer League. So far, G-Lock has proven to be much more valuable than Morris in the NBA, and until that changes I'm always in support of keeping G-Lock over Morris if given the choice.

I think alot of fans overrate the potential of both Goudelock and Morris. Both will be career benchwarmers.
