Wrong Carpenter, the one we're looking for pitched in Vegas last night. 1.1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K, 0 ER.

The Jays seriously need to consider sending Alvarez back down. In his last 11 starts his ERA is 6.33 in 64 innings, including 87 hits allowed, 15 walks, and 12 home runs. I'm not a fan of having a rotation with Laffey, Cecil, and Happ in it, but it would probably be an upgrade over Alvarez at this point.

Good sweep. Would have been nice to get a game in NY too, but whatever.

do we know anything more on Morrow, i thought he was soft-tossing a couple weeks ago? Cecil and Alvarez out is ideal imo. Romero, Morrow, V, Laffey, Happ is very workable and hopefully reality in a couple weeks.

Had a setback with back spasms on Friday, expected to throw another bullpen on Monday. If all goes well he should get a minor league start next weekend.

Alvarez needs some work. but what do you do? put Happ in instead?

it honestly blows my mind that we are 1 game above .500 with this craptastic starting line-up of a awful Romero and 4 scrubs. seriously. its unbelievable.

I posted this in the injury updates thread, but Morrow will be back mid-to-late August.

I was thinking about this watching the hit parade... Good stuff, 15's a nice number

As Sensi alluded too, watching us dominate the sox in fenway for a 3 game sweep brought many a tears to my eye. Terrific series.

Edit: My first time watching Loup pitch, and man that guy has a sic breaking ball. What was that pitch he threw to Pedroia in the 8th? I remember watching it and being like, wow, what the hell was that? I don't think i've ever seen movement like that on a ball... Somebody should .gif it.
